Great video! You probably did see a Great Blue Herron, they are fairly common in East Tennessee. The jeeps were probably from the Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge, that event is the last full weekend in August each year. There is a book, Hiking Trails of the Smokies, available on line or at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, that is very helpful to anyone planning to hike in the Park. It is compact enough to carry with a map in a backpack. Can’t wait to see the next video.

Thanka Gary! I had a feeling there was some kind of jeep festival going on. I didn't see that book at Sugarlands but the rangers at the back country office were extremely helpful. That area is amazing!
