Be careful. Those woods are no joke. There are feral people who've lived in those hollers for generations and will mess with you when you are asleep.

It's always wet down in those valleys. All the down trees turn straight to rotten. BSF in Tennessee is the same way. You have to get on top of the ridge to find dry wood but thats not always convenient or easy. Tough going for sure. Had the same experience last year fishing. More like work than fun sometimes.

I grew up not too far from there. Most likely those were yellow jacket hornets, they make nests in the ground. Very aggressive around their nest and relentless in attacking you. We always kept the truck nearby when using a tractor to bush hog the pasture because they follow you.

I've been chased and stung by those before after running over the hole with a mower, not pleasant! These were bees though. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Several times in Colorado I saw miles of public trout stream on a map only to get there and find nothing but willows lining the banks and very few places to put a fly in the water or even get in to go wading. I know the feeling.

@@SurvivalTheory one of the things I like about your vids is it’s a reminder about the big differences between camping and survival. Hope I don’t learn the distinction first hand but still good to think about it.

First!?! 😳 Great video. Very peaceful. That area also has black panthers but you'll never see them. You might buy others won't. You just convinced me to carry more cotton. Lots more cotton and Vaseline. I also tear up old jeans with left over candle wax.

It’s good your still rocking with the 3V gear pack, I got mine strapped onto my motorcycle for motorcycle adventures , talking about bears made me think that It might not be a good idea to vape sweet juices in bear country, I like dessert flavors , I bet a bear could smell that a mile away , might have to carry me a pack smokes instead or a can of dip

Bears are skiddish of sound. Thats why they make "bear bells" for hiking. The bell hangs off your pack and the ding scares away bears. So making a ding ding sound was in response to thinking he heard a bear.
