I would be very interested in seeing a meat and cheese type sandwich made smooth. Like a ham and cheddar with lettuce and tomato. I imagine you individually boiling lettuce and tomato until they were mashed into a liquid and mixed with agar powder would make those layers. I don't know what you would do with the ham layer but the cheddar layer would be easy. just melt some cheese into some milk, add turmeric for color, add agar powder and let it set with the other layers.

Thank you for showing how to make this! That was very interesting! I grew up eating pb&j, with some good bread from my grandparents local market they would give us… sometimes I’ll see it in my lunch bag (or my new shiny lunch box)..We always had fresh tortillas and my mom once in awhile would heat up tortillas and spread peanut butter and grape jelly in the hot tortilla and roll it up and fold the end so it wouldn’t spill on us, and a glass of cold milk. The peanut butter was warm and kind of melted, it was so good, better than bread! Even now, I make myself a hot tortilla with p&j! 😁

If you’re going to try this recipe, I suggest using oat milk for the “bread” layer. And like Emmy suggested, juice or concentrated squash for the “jelly” layer!

Linh Giang- White while oat milk would fix the whole vegan issue, it wouldn’t produce the same opaque color as heavy cream and milk. Also to add, powdered peanut butter would work much better as the flavor would be better, and it would mix extremely easily.

Oat milk is a wonderful idea. I had said perhaps a concentrated or reduced juice. I bet frozen juice concentrate would work well.

A good way of getting jelly or gelatin molds to release is to use a warm, moist towel wrapped around the bottom of the mold to help warm the gelatin a little so it releases.
