Thank you so much for the lessons. I used to have a beautiful singing voice but my husband got sick and for several years we’ve been isolated and I haven’t been singing. I know that I’ve grown older but I think my weakened voice is more from not using it than it is from aging. I’m trying to sing more around the house now and I’m using your straws. Hopefully, some of the strength and clarity that I use to have will come back. Thank you again. ❤

Love these! Much more effective now that I am using your actual singing straws, not just a plastic one. I have to warm up using 2 straws, before I can do this workout with just 1 straw. Just wondering, how do you not have saliva dripping out of your straw? I'm soaked! Am I doing it wrong?
@SingingStraw3 жыл бұрын
SO happy to hear that you are noticing a difference! As for the spit, it happens! It's completely normal and happens to me as well.
@tomciappa3694 Жыл бұрын
Where would I find the explanation about the differences of using multiple straws? At the moment, using two straws is much smoother and easier to hold tone. When I go to one straw it is more difficult to smooth out the sound. Thanks!
@SingingStraw Жыл бұрын
Hey! Using 2 or 3 straws at once is perfectly fine if you feel the resistance is too much with just 1 straw. With time you can work up to just one straw. :)
@noahsonnenberg69963 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks so much for this great video! I'm noticing that when I try to go into my head voice using just one straw, it's really difficult and I can barely manage to make any sound come out at all. But using two straws it's much easier. I am a bass/low baritone, so it's quite hard for me to reach higher notes anyways. Should I continue to use two straws, or should I try and get better at using just one?
@SingingStraw3 жыл бұрын
Keep using 2 straws until you feel more comfortable! With practice, you will probably notice that it becomes easier and will be able to build up to using one straw! The thinner the diameter straws, the more backpressure and resistance in the vocal tract. You will get there with practice! You got this!

Question: does it matter which of the 3 singing straws I use? Which straw is for is for what specifically? Thank you
@SingingStraw Жыл бұрын
Use the straw size that feels best for your voice! If you have the Original set, you can use 1, 2, or 3 straws at a time to vary the resistance. If you have the PRO, I would start with the 3mm and then you can see if your voice needs to go up or down a diameter from there. Hope that helps!

I just got the singing straws and I'm excited to start practicing, but I do notice that my voice falls away a lot when using he straw! (mostly in the middle/higher ranges) and that it is coming out very wobbly as well at times... Can you give me some tips/advice/insights to why this is and how to solve this? Thank you!!
@SingingStraw3 жыл бұрын
You mean that you lose sound, or puff out? That's normal - it just takes time to adjust to the sensation of the back pressure, give it time and those notes should come back soon!
@Suyana3 жыл бұрын
@@SingingStraw I lose sound! ... thank you for the quick reply. :-)
@rickparma3 жыл бұрын
just started the straw and so my break into my headvoice is very thick because I mostly built my chest and belting register so I can literally belt a G5 without strain and wiping out my voice. so my bridge to head voice in my mid and upper range is a thick raspy bump... Will this help me even smooth this out for me.

My jaw and neck feels tight/tired after doing this? Why is that happen?
@SingingStraw3 жыл бұрын
Ooh take it easy then! The goal is to reduce tension, and if you’re feeling fatigued try doubling up and trying to relax into it more, don’t fight the back pressure. Try that and let me know how it goes!
@mihaelagrigore87132 жыл бұрын
what does it mean when I can't hold the notes and the sound comes out vibrated (trough the straw)?
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
I think you mean if the tone comes out unsteady? No worries, its just a sign to work on your stability, airflow and support - the more you practice with the S/S - the better that will get! I'm doing a bootcamp in Jan - jump on the waitlist and we can work together in the new year! www.becomeabettersinger.com/

Throat becomes little tight after doing this and i loose lower octave notes for that particular time is this okay ?
@SingingStraw3 жыл бұрын
Ah, interesting. I would say you should check in with your neck and posture if you're feeling tightness - we don't want that. The resistance feeling is what you want, but that shouldn't feel "tight". I'd suggest going up to 2 or 3 straws and seeing if you can get rid of that tightness feeling!

Should I be holding the straw lightly with my teeth also. Idk what I'm doing 😕
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
Nope! Relax your jaw and open slightly so that your teeth are not touching the straw at all. Focus on keeping your lips sealed around the straw but keeping looseness in the jaw/teeth. Hope that helps!
