You’re not an idiot. You just forgot but Louis’ swing is like honey. Difficult to put someone at the top of the list but despite what ‘vanislefan’ says, for me it’s a toss up between Freddie Couples and Ernie Els (the Big Easy himself - because of his big easy swing). Without a doubt, Louis Oosthuizen is the smoothest out there right now. Thanks for posting.

The ‘Big Easy’, Ernie Els’ swing has always been great to watch but no-one has ever been as smooth as Freddie. I do my best to emulate Freddie’s swing and, when I get it right, my scores are a reflection of that smooth, silky control. It always gets comments from other guys I play with at my club.

@@jimnasium3979 based on the players that the video maker chose; I doubt they even know who Tom Purtzer is. My definition of a smooth golf swing is one that produces "effortless" power. Although he has a good golf swing, Morikawa does NOT have a smooth golf swing. He looks like he's swinging out of his shoes when he swings. I'd argue that very few, if any, current "modern day" tour players have truly smooth golf swings.

I think if we visit South Africa and take a lesson, we should be pretty smooth. Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Trevor Immelman, etc to name a few. No doubt Freddie possibly has the smoothest swing but I'm really impressed with the SA players.

I like how each of the shown players has their own style. Someone like Colin or Adam Scott has a swing tailored for power and transition. Couples and Els are just complete rhythm guys. Then you have Xander who just has a super athletic stroke but is a great shot shaper. Payne Stewart has a perfect swing path and shot trajectory. Each player's own style can be illustrated by what is emphasized most in the swing. Its incredible to me because these pros were all taught something at a young age but developed their game alongside both their physique, course management IQ, and overall skill. Each swing has its own flair and expression of their game.

OK, 'love the video. Fred, by a mile! There are some that I disagree with but there are two that were very conspicuously absent??? Tom Purtzer, who I would put right below Freddie and David Frost, who also had a very sweet, compact and pure swing. But back to Fred; even when he hit that ball which almost went into the water at #12 in the '92 Masters,' that swing was just as beautiful as ever! And don't worry, The Big Easy is right up there, too!
