SmplTrek as a Three Track Recorder!
Today I want to show how you can use the SmplTrek as a three track recorder! While you do need to use a "normal" track to set up your song structure, it is entirely possible to use the three audio tracks to record a full song. With the right use of input effects, you can stretch those three tracks even further! I also forgot to mention it in the video, but you can then export your audio tracks individually for finishing in a DAW if you want to as well! Enjoy the video :)

😎 Thanks for showing this. I got my SmplTrek a few days ago as a mini-studio as my songs usually start from guitar and vocals. For my first attempt to record a song, I put a simple beat in drum track 1 and then recorded guitar and vocal takes for the first few verses and the chorus on global tracks 1 and 2. I didn’t record the rest of the song yet and am now trying to figure out how I can use the guitar track as a oneshot” for the later verses& chorus… The SmplTrek is just awesome. I only wish it supported multi-samples, so I could load some self-sampled keys and bass into it.

Great timing as I'm about do a collab with a friend on the SmplTrek, and was thinking to use the global tracks for this as well! Will be recording guitar, bass and vox, over programmed drums. Hopefully it'll be a simple way to lay down some ideas. Love the bassline you're laying down there!

In the end we didn't have time to play around with global tracks, so resorted to creating guitar and bass loops, managed to get four new song ideas down in a few hours so pretty productive. Not quite understanding the monitoring levels for HI-Z input yet though, there seems to be a monitoring level for when a loop track is record-armed, but when you start recording it seems to use a different level. It appears to be using the tracks mixer level during recording... which isn't so easy to set before you start recording... as you don't know how loud it's going to be with a blank track! Maybe I'm missing something though... any ideas?

Each sample can be up to 16 minutes in length, so you can kind of just treat them like audio tracks as is!
