Welcome to September 2024! A surprise awaits us as the first (demonstrator) sets of the two non Kawasaki built trains running on the NSEWL. As of 2024, trains by Siemens and Alstom are the two non Kawasaki built trains on NSEWL.
In the thumbnail, and around the 7:01 timestamp, we see the two trains meeting, 201/202 and 801/802. With only 3 C651 trains left and 28 R151s in service, the chances of this happening were almost slim to non.
201/202 was originally on EWL, but got replaced by another train into CHD. Then the train replaced 017/018 on run 102.
The CGL deployment eventually looked like this at the end of the day;
101 801/802
102 201/202 (replaced 017/018; 823/824)
103 079/080 (replaced 123/124)
SGT2581 Announcement: With LTA announcing the retirement of the First, Second and Third Generation Trains in Singapore, (Kawasaki Heavy Industries Contract 151, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft C651 and Kawasaki Nippon Sharyo C751B), both of us will be filming more of these trains on both NSL and EWL, to commemorate the great service that these trains have provided.
