SMRT North South Line - CBTC Signalling Changeover (Yio Chu Kang → Marina South Pier)

Taking a train past the CBTC signalling changeover from the legacy old Westinghouse signalling system. The North South Line is trialing this signalling system for the first time. The changeover takes place at Newton station (17:15 to 23:20).
Under this system, trains travel at a higher speed, the braking profile is smoother, the PSDs will close and open before the train doors do, and most importantly, the minimum distance between trains is greatly reduced and it utilises the moving signal block.

The deceleration of the old Westinghouse system seems smoother, the new CBTC system decelerates to a extremely slow speed about a metre before the stopping position, and brakes suddenly when it arrives(like the Circle Line and North East Line trains). Would this take extra time or it's actually faster?

Nothing happend at Bishan. No one knows what that sound was, and I guess the man-voice announcement was just reminding the passengers about the new signalling system switchover.
