this was done on hard mode with gehenna equipped. if i didn't win here, i probably would've had to grind to beat him. if i remember right, none of my demons had life surge by this point, making most bosses' attacks one shot them. goes to show how even the hardest fights in this game become a cakewalk with the right strategy. this is why i love nocturne so much, easily the best jrpg i have ever played

SMT. The game series where you can have carefully planned out strategies get ruined by the AI just doing whatever the hell it wants, and also the game series that allows this. My favorite SMT fight I had was a gimmick boss where you were supposed to keep casting magic at a boss that appeared to be healing from it, only for it to overdose and die. Instead, my entire party except my MC died, he was asleep, and somehow the boss ran out of MP and literally could do nothing. I spent the next 3 hours slapping him to death.

this was done with gehenna equipped. it drains fire. if an attack is drained or reflected the enemy loses four press turns. i honestly wouldn't expect this to happen every time you fight surt, or any boss on hard mode for that matter; this was a unique stroke of good luck.
