GG, just another job done by Gogmagoat. I wonder if this Demifiend fight is now harder than the one in Digital Devil just by stats and damage alone, but I think this game gives you way too many tools to beat him either way.

Well, you can beat him that way so I'd say no. But if you do him "legit", then i'd say yes, he should be at the same level: every attack is a one-shot and he's got 6 turns with adds on.

Cheese or not, this set of battles are no joke, expect to see both Satan's and Masakado's boss rushes being much worse, as this particular one (Demi-Fiend aside for obvious reasons) is not a big deal, with the updates that the game has nowadays, I can say that I can have a good time playing it, as I'm doing it at my (very slow) pace and is fun (granted that I'm not playing on hard, and probably only play Safety for grinding purposes or just to get done with some stuff if I get stuck and don't want to really bother too much in getting stuff, as sometimes I don't have the time due to work BS).

Yeah I feel ya. Play at your own pace and difficulty, all that matters is to have fun. Satan has about twice as much HP and Masakado 4 times, with the increased damage and bs from both, Demi-Fiend is indeed the easiest by far...

​@@kaiserkreuz2110 Thanks, SMTV Vengeance is actually the 2nd SMT game I'm playing after a few years ago since Nocturne (and that was before it's HD Remaster... and also excluding the Persona series) and I'm liking the game a lot, I'm quite happy to give some love to my Xbox One (yup, while not physical... which if I get the chance I'll get it, I got the digital version nearly at day 1... funny enough it was the cheapest option I had between the 4 platforms with all the DLC) but I wanted to play SMTV since the vanilla Switch days.

Well, to be fair, if I had to fight them all in quick succession just to die to Demi-Fiend, I'd be seething. At least they kept the stronger ones (Matader can OHK you on crit so that makes him stronger than the Horsemen IMO.)

@@kaiserkreuz2110 If the Fiends were all included, then I believe it would be fair to split it into 3 boss rushes: - Menorah Battles A: Matador, Daisoujou, Hell Biker - Menorah Battles B: White Rider, Red Rider, Black Rider, Pale Rider - Menorah Battles C: Mother Harlot, Trumpeter, Demi-Fiend. (Heck, would Menorah Battles A and B qualify for the regular Virtual Trainer battles if the Fiends were done like this?)

@@kaiserkreuz2110 Demi-Fiend is of course the hardest, the others can be tricky but very doable (also if you get RNG screwed with Matador... yeah, is just the 1st fight so is not a big issue having to restart the boss rush if his 1-hit KO innate skill triggers, this is funny as despite being the 1st Fiend, Matador is very dangerous thanks to his innate skill... but also let's not forget his infamous status as the "Nocturne/Lucifer's Call Gatekeeper"... if you know what I mean).

@@PikangsFutaba If you resist+ Physical, Matador is a non-issue. From there, the only "hard" Fiends are Mother Harlot and Trumpeter. Then, of course, our boi the Demi-Fiend is the hardest.

Congratulations on beating the hardest DF there is! Now only Masakado and Satan left. They would be rough... Also may I ask what is the optimal build for a support Baki that you used in some of these fights? I want to try out your Baki build for some superbosses? Also aside from Baphomet, are there other demons that i can use for Impaler's Glory? Edit: Sorry for adding another question, but I think DF Has more actions here compared to where you fight him during the quest in Hall of Chaos?

Thanks! For sure, it's the hardest Demi-Fiend fight I've done in any SMT game. Baki's build is more of a wall build: get as much defense as you can and maybe a few support skills. Every Vile demon (plus Satan and Nahobino) can use Imapler's Glory. In Virtual Trainer (Challenge Mode) every fight has one extra Press Turn, including here with Satan and DF (with 3 adds) at 6 instead of 5 and Masakado at 8 instead of 7. It makes the difference...

They're worse. Satan is easier to setup but also easier to miss (also can't kill him in a single turn, or I need at least 14 actions if I want an OTK with Gog.) Masakado is even worse. 567k HP and 8 Press Turns (also every hit does more than 1k damage.)

Yo, no problem, you're fine! Demi-Fiend, the superboss, has an AI pattern that makes it so he'll target any newly switched demon with Deadly Fury, so I'm using that to my advantage to kill his turn count so I can set-up for the big damaging turn. I then switch to get repeated effects that should otherwise be single-use. A bit cheesy but I don't consider it cheating as long as it's not a turn 1 kill.

You can go the entire game without switch demons mid fight like this This is a strategy that is only required by super bosses like this fight

I just wanted to get this over with because I don't wanna replay the story up to Taito to get Chaotic Will and Revival Chant (both necessary for a legit clear.) I'll do it a more legit way later, for now I just wanna get clears with Satan and Masakado. Also, I didn't use Sakuya for DF, at least. if I wanted to use DLC cheese, I would lock myself in an infinite turn with Dana's Wisdom (Dagda + Danu) and go ham with Gog or Masakado.

I almost beat Demi-Fiend legit, so I'd say yes. Satan would require to learn more about his patterns and get him to eat the right demons, but can also be done. Masakado can be tricked several ways but I'm not doing it the "legit" and boring way. I'd rather 2TK him (should be possible with proper setup) and get done with it because I never want to touch this fight again.

@@galvusgalvoid1510 If you're locked at level 99 yourself, know that there's a huge difference between level 99 DF and level 100 DF (167 on every stat, which is overall more than Level 99 Satan.) Good luck!

It gives a 30% chance of granting Impaler's Animus if an attack is Null/Repel/Drained. That's why some of his Deadly Furies pierced.

It makes that the enemy attack has a chance to pierce your resistances, making things a pain in the gut sometimes as the strategies you may use in the standard battles can fail due to getting RNG screwed by an enemy attack piercing your resistances.
