Goku learning of Bardock was about him getting closure and understanding Saiyan pride. Before this, even if he embraced this side of himself, Goku didn't have much to be proud of regarding his heritage. Learning that his father was a warrior capable of good and not just some savage murderer finally changed that. He doesn't need anything more from Bardock. Plus, Goku doesn't use the dragon balls for personal gain.

And from him, Goku is the way he is today. He found completion through the family and friends he made along the way. He could've at any point in time desire to know more about his father, but never needed to. He was complete. Imo, feels like unneeded dramatic weight.

It's that as far as they are concerned Goku lived and that's what's important and Goku understands that (as of the Grenolah arc). The issues with reviving the Saiyans has very little to do with them being a threat, mainly because the strongest saiyans are all good guys.

Not an "um actually" thing but the Bardock saving Granolah & fighting Gas happened 3 years before Planet Vegeta's destruction. Remember Gine said she'd just given birth to Kakarotto before putting him in the chamber during his flashback & Toriyama pointed out that Goku was left in that chamber for 3 years after his birth.

My question is if Goku spent 7 years in DB heaven, why he never ended up meeting them. Especially in modern Dragon Ball when they're trying to portray Bardock as nice and sympathetic and Gine as a housewife, when Vegeta was also able to redeem himself and get revived. 1. It's more than likely that they were reincarnated, they've been dead for more than a decade now. 2. Vegeta didn't do just one good act and was fine, he sacrificed himself for the sake of the universe Bardock did try to save Granolah and his family, and that and his revelation was way too late, and not even an act worth instant redemption. 3. Any scene of the dead villains watching things are from non canon filler.

Not a bad video overall. Most arguments are good and well explained and I’m not really going to contradict anything from it. However, one thing I will say: "It’s all filler" I will never consider a valid argument, at least to an extent. If we’re talking manga or Super, then yeah, filler is rather meaningless as we saw, hence why it makes more sense for Super’s anime to be a sequel to Kai rather than Z. But filler or not, when something happens in a series, there’s no point ignoring it. It happened. The show and the manga are two different entities and in the anime, villains kept their bodies and lived in that weird place guarded by ogres. And even GT which was the canonical sequel to the anime (again, not the manga, don’t you people start going "Hum actually GT was never canon") before the Super anime, well even GT took the filler into consideration with the presence of the Tuffles or Frieza & Cell having their bodies in Hell. So basically "How Afterlife actually works" really does depend on which version of the Dragon Ball world we are talking about. TL;DR: What filler showed matters in the Z anime, GT and the movies but not in the manga or Kai… mostly because we still see the villains observing the fight against Kid Buu.

If we look at the Burdock special only, than Burdock did only 3 positive in nature things: 1.Avenged his team and by doing so he punished some bad guys. 2.Warned the other Saiyans from what Freeza is planning. Which although they didn't believe him it was a noble thing to do. 3.Stood up to Freeza despite knowing he will die in the fight. So 3 good things in a life of villainy doesn't make him a good guy, it just makes him a brave strong warrior who tried to do right. K. Bejita The-III on the other hand did absolutely nothing good. On the mother of Bejita The-IV we know nothing, and Gine who cares to be honest.

Bardock, in Z, not familiar with Super, was still pretty violent. He taught the saiyans how to make artificial moons, and until he saw his men dead, he was gung ho ready for a fight. He only becomes sympathetic once Frieza threatens to do the saiyans, what he did all the time.

Goku and Vegeta aren’t sentimental like Earthlings when it comes to the demise of the saiyan race. Especially when so many decades have passed. They are content with their current Earthling family and that’s just compelling. Even when Goku remembered his parents, he still moved on from them. This question is just a wish fulfillment for fans to see certain saiyan characters ( esp. Bardock and Gine) interact with the protagonists. There’s nothing wrong with that but it isn’t necessary to the current storyline as of now based on what’s been established by the characters. The truth is they no longer have a role to play . That’s what what ifs are for.

I think there is a low, but small chance that Bardock and Gine get brought back at some point. Especially with people constantly asking for it, and the increased focus on these characters in recent years. King Vegeta on the other hand, I feel won't be brought back unless there is some kind of arc where they bring back the Saiyans (maybe as antagonists of a future arc). I just don't think Vegeta cares about his dad at all. Goku on the other hand cares about his family, and is starting to learn that his parents weren't beyond redemption (and in fact Gine already gave up violence, and Bardock was just starting a redemption arc when he died). I don't think it's entirely likely to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did it.

This actually got me thinking about something. 04:38 into the video,….. I’m wondering. Before the cell arc, was mr Satan judged as good or evil? He wasn’t really cheating anybody or anything (except for his wife, and his marriage), he wasn’t falsely claiming any titles for himself. He hadn’t done anything particularly good either, such as get 16’s head over to help gohan, through what was basically an active war zone. At that point, he was a borderline delusional person who did care for others but mostly himself, who won martial arts matches often without any grace for his opponents, and cheated on his wife. He was giving his daughter a good life, but was that enough to judge him as good? What about after the cell games? At that point, some of his delusion was gone, and he risked his life to help gohan and 16 so they could talk with each other. At the same time, he claimed gohans victory as his own. It made more sense to the public, sure, but mr satan likely did it for the fame and glory more than anything else. How do things balance out for him? The rest of his existing delusion, his falsely claimed title of beating cell, his days of cheating on his wife, and arguably unsportsmanlike like behavior,… are they all lesser and beaten out by his one act of selflessness and bravery to help gohan? And finally, what about after the buu arc? At this point, not only did he put his own life on the line during the cell games, but he put aside his pride and ego to help the other z fighters in the land of the kais to help defeat Majin buu and better himself too. He also lost even more of the delusion that had him believe to be the best thing since toilet paper. He gave up on trying to destroy buu and instead became best friends with buu, being a genuinely good person with/for them. At that point in the series, immediately after buu’s defeat in the land of the kais, he’s better than he’s been before. He’s risked his life many times to do the right thing and helped those around him a lot too. Do those things beat out everything else about him, and everything else he’s done? At this point, would hercule be judged as good or evil?

Even just visiting them in otherworld just to FIGHT them would have been interesting. Heck could do it BEFORE deciding to revive them to test them. Either that or be more specific in reviving them, such as "I wish X was alive but cleansed of their evil aspects"

As a person who’s been watching Dragon Ball since 2010 to Right now, I think Goku should revive his parents because that would be a good entry in the show smug and other Euler stuff in the show like the episode of Bardock came out in 1990 that was 34 years ago

another big reason they couldnt be revived, not counting the super dragonballs since they have no limits, is that the dragonballs of universe 7 have a time limit on revival which is limited to a year by the count of the dragonballs, so anyone dead for longer then a single earth year cant be revived by shenron and more then likely paronga cant revive someone dead longer then a namekian year

Then again there's that whole "noncanon" thing of bardock just being plucked out of time, so they could do something like that where goku asks shenron for his parents back and shenron is like "Can't do that. but you can have your mom back, your dad is still alive getting the milk"

I mean he didn’t teamed up with him at first, and when Gokou wanted him to be spared, he only wanted to fight him, and Vegeta was in the brink of death, and later stopped being completely evil and only focused his hatred towards Gokou and wanted to surpass him. Plus without him, there wouldn’t be Trunks who was needed for future events to unfold.

Bardock may be like a typical Saiyan warrior who wipe out planets as a job but he can be capable of change albeit slowly in his own way. Plus it's not like he would antagonize Goku like Raditz did anyway. And Gine would love to meet her grandsons Gohan and Goten, along with befriending Chi-Chi and bond together as fellow feisty women who made Bardock and Goku fall for them respectively.

MasakoX actually made a good What-If about this.... And yeah, the moral of that story was actually basically what you came to. Bardock basically wasn't truly "alive". His wife was still dead. These were people he didn't know, nor care about much. (Though, he did like Goten and Pan.) And... at the end. He died again of his own volition. (I won't spoil the rest, because it was a REALLY good story.) But yeah... bringing the long dead back would be a bad thing. Since they're happier in the afterlife.

I think, while every planet with sentient life likely doesn't have its own hell, each galaxy probably does. We know there is the East, South, West, and North Kai. Snake Way goes from the check in to North Kai's planet. (King Kai we are most familiar with) I would think that each galaxy has a separate check in station, with separate paths to their respective Kais.

Old Vegeta didn't care about the saiyan, i agree with that. But I think post trunks being born, Vegeta would probably reflect on his race and probably start to care. Though, maybe since the saiyans were a violent race, he doesn't think they could coexist in the universe. So maybe that's why he doesn't revive them? It definitely can't be because he doesn't want to misuse the dragon balls. Since bulma uses them all the time to make herself beautiful.

I think its been stated (or changed in DBS) that reincarnation exists, and I don't think they can be revived after being reincarnated. I believe it was stated that reincarnation only happens when the soul turns good and can move on, but Frieza is stuck in his own otherworld because he won't change who he is.

I'm not too into the lore, but I would assume they were technicalky revived by Kami and Mr. Popo, when they made their wish to revive everyone, Frieza and his men had killed. While this could only apply to recently or on namek, the wish was still *Everyone*, so that should include the saiyans. However, since planet Vegeta was destroyed and they had nowhere safe to return to, they probably found themselves in the middle of space and died. Like I said, I'm not that into actual lore, and I haven't watched the anime in years, so just how I assumed happened.
