I've been listening to Floyd since 1969. Still get chills with this song all these years later... Never tire of a true masterpiece. Bowie was great and the 2nd lead guitar solo here is one of Gilmour's best public performances.

What a gentleman. Bowie was always the polite one and knew how to grow old gracefully. Something some of the artists of today seem to have forgotten how to.....not mentioning any names.....But his passing is putting back some decent rock in to the ears of the younger generation and hopefully that will be an inspiration to many more like him. Miss you so much Mr Starman, you never let me down. RIP

Having seen this sung live a couple of times & knowing how mind blowing DG is live & PF, to have been there to witness this would have been something to remember for the rest of your life. Witness sheeple throwing the sign of the horns at metal gigs without getting into any of the music - fucking too-cool-for-school hipsters in every genre. No mosh pit here, but Gilmour would be absolutely awesome onstage with a guitarist like John Petrucci - probably putting the cart before the horse considering DT's obvious prog rock heritage :D
