Paul's bass playing n the original recording still ranks to me as one of the most inventive bass lines in any pop song ever. Ironically, George didn't particularly like it as he thought Paul over-played on it.

At first, I really liked it, too, but since I know Georges Live-Version of Something (the one from the 70s), i prefer this more simple bass line. Don't know why, because you're right, Paul's one is much more inventive.

Love how Paul still plays a righty-guitar (notice how the pick-guard is in the wrong place!) strung lefty. With his wealth he could have dozens of guitars with the pick-guard below the hole ... and no one would be the wiser! Half of the Beatles were lefty's living in a righty world.
