They wear their influences on their sleeve. Every interview they do, they talk about the bands that influenced them. They're clearly very passionate about classic rock. It's awesome to see a band that tries to carry the torch of some of the best music ever made, rather than copy whatever music genre happens to be popular at the moment.

You can hear Geddy Lee and a little Steppenwolf/Aerosmith in there too. They have many songs and when you hear them, you'll say , "That sounds just like Geddy Lee, Robert Plant, Jon Anderson of Yes", I can hear others too! The band is just GREAT. They can do almost anyone and they are writing this music with their own spin. They'll go far.

You're right on 100% about these guys! I just stumbled into them recently.... so I guess that algorithm led me here :) They are borrowing from Zeppelin heavily, but who doesn't borrow even the smallest of riffs a lot of times?? Evolution and sometimes just adding onto great stuff. I need to see them if they come through here!

Greta Van Fleet are 3 brothers and their best friend... Josh Kiszka - Lead Vocals Jake Kiszka - Lead Guitars & Josh's twin brother (they are identical twins) Sam Kiska- Bass Guitar & keyboards (Josh & Jake's younger brother) Danny Wagner - Drums (hes been a friend of the brothers since school!)

I was worried that you fell into the whole " They're a Zep cover, they suck!" movement. Those type of comments are generally made by people whose only perspective is their lack of any musical perspective. In other words, basement dwellers.

Someone said (I wish I could remember who) that we have to remember that Zepplin, Ozzy, AC/DC and all the others are not getting any younger and when their generation of musicians dies that music style dies with them unless bands like Greta Van Fleet keeps the music alive. We should be happy that they play this style of music so that in the coming years when we lose those wonderful artists the music doesn't die with them.

I really like these guys. All the people that are giving them grief for sounding like Zeppelin, remember that Zeppelin lifted riffs and their first couple of albums were full of covers

You should listen to a cover GVF did of David Bowie's The Jean Genie. It is fantastic !! I like it much better than the original and the bass is unbelievable !..... Love yr reactions !

You should add Watching Over to your list. That song sounds much less like LZ and more along he lines of Rush or even Rainbow.

Good review only thing else people don't realize they've never denied Led Zeppelin being one of their influences it's 1 of many not their main or only with their definitely not a Cover band and their new material is insane

If you watch some of their live performances they do have more of their own sound, and the guitarist is so great. In interviews they said they felt the Blues driven music of the 70s kind of stopped and they wanted to continue it, bring it back and move it foward. I do think down the road this band will find their own sound, like Rush's first album was compared to Zep but then came their second album which was a new sound.

I love the sport of boxing. I was told I'm dumb because I should like MMA more. I replied, I like them both. Where is it written I can't like both? Same with Zeppelin. LOVE Zep! But GVF are doing a fine job. I like them too.

Check out the band Kingdom come, they were a 90's Metal band that sounded just like Lep, but they were great. Kingdom Come was Lep like but with the modern metal favor of the 90s, I actually like Kingdom Come better. Watch. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3-2noyNm65-q6M

My sentiments, exactly. Why do they have to be compared to anyone? Josh has the voice he has, and everyone in the band is very talented. I stop watching reactions as soon as they bring up, Led Zeppelin. I never felt what I feel with, Greta Van Fleet, with Zeppelin. I'm 63, Stairway to Heaven was the theme of my senior prom. Their music never spoke to me like this young band's does.

Exactly, they are INFLUENCED by other bands. All great bands are influenced by others. Just because they sound like Zep. They are doing thier own music. People need to stop dissing and enjoy the music they are bringing back. They are BRINGING BCK ROCK! and that is what matters!

They don't deny being influenced by Led Zeppelin but I think they are maybe getting a little over the constant comparisons. A lot of the songs on AOTPA sound like they're moving away from that and finding their own sound. Most of those songs just sound like GVF to me, especially Age of Man, Mountain of the Sun, You're the one and Anthem. Either way I love them all and can't wait for the next album.
