Hi, Sandy! When you play this again you will see in the very beginning Dimash gets credit for being one of the 2 Directors of this video! His national pride is wonderful and he cares so deeply for love and peace. We don't understand a word he's singing yet we get on the verge of crying. The emotion in his voice comes from his heart. He is so genuine.

That was really intense ... The music, the visual effects, and of course, his voice! I can appreciate his range, but I much prefer this type of singing from him. The softness when needed and the powerful strength of his phenomenal voice without those extremely high notes. This was awesome. Thank you Sandy, and as always, a big hello to your Mother. Jim P.S. You look amazing. So happy to have you back.

Good to see you back and recovering ! The pianist in the video wrote the music. If you remember early in the song the lyrics talk about how going through adversity tempers a person. I think this is the key to knowing why he used the fire symbol, because they used to temper steel in fire in order to make it strong enough to make into swords. I read that besides his country's history, he also lost 2 of his musical mentors to the virus. I think in the video, even if he and the pianist didn't survive to see the new dawn at the end, (where the mountains went from black and white to color, and the music went from minor to major), their efforts made it possible.

There's a lot of symbolism here and not just having to do with Kazakhstan but the world in general. I'm sure you'll get a lot of opinions of what the symbolism is from other Dears. Btw, it's great to see you back! 😀

👍 The Intro says: The great steppe. I praise their rich countries. Altai and Atyrau, Zhaiyk e lli, Alatau and Saryarka: what expanses of my homeland have seen my happy years! I mean the great steppe, the golden cradle of the Turkish world. Hey, silent world! Don't hold your breath! You have offspring who have never doubted and have not stood aside in heated arguments and confrontations. This land has an owner, a kind character and a generous soul that cannot spoil or destroy this changing world with its distorted values. The Great Steppe has a guardian spirit that is unknown to a stranger and incomprehensible to a stranger. That is the Prayer for his homeland, the humanity and our earth ... a masterpiece. We live in dark times. Lots of wars, hunger, suffering, pandemics. (Dimash lost two of his mentors by covid19) ... The bleeding Kobyz-player and the dying pianist (composer) are victims in this dark time. Dimash is the burning soul of a musician and he burns for us humans ... and there is hope. When humanity overcomes the rocks together, the sun rises and everything shines in bright colors. A new day is dawning ... a new beginning.

A prayer for the world and his land. COVID took 2 of his mentors and the pianist got upset reading the news back inJuly. He put a melody together and Dimash wanted to sing to this. His dad produced it and Dimash helped directed .

Hi , very nice reaction, you seem truly touched. The instrument is a kobyz, a Kazakh national instrument, also used in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. It's two strings are made of horsehair. It can really produce very interesting sounds and was also used in Samaltau, as you well noticed :) cheers from Vienna!

Great to see you back! This is such a powerful video with a message to us all... Our homeland is Earth... (On another video, I saw a comment from "Eshua Levi" from Kazakhstan - it struck me as helpful in understanding a bit more: "We, Kazakhs, have a proverb "The fire won't consume the one who stands firm to protect his Homeland". Dimash being on fire means he is standing against ALL wars and violence in this World and praying for Peace on Earth, i.e. our long-suffered Homeland!") Greetings from the UK and I hope you continue in better health!

The name of the instrument you were asking, is kobuiz ( кобыз )
@genobondo4 жыл бұрын
That instrument is called a dombra. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dombra. There is a 3 string instrument looks much like this but has an altogether different name that escapes me right now.

Did you mess with the color? It’s supposed to be black and white!
@smylyface3 жыл бұрын
I love that you think I would know how to do that. 😂😂 No Dear, it is exactly how it was when I recorded it. I think the original video has color towards the end. I wish I had the editing skills required to do something like that though. I'm hoping to take a few computer classes after the pandemic is over. 🤓💕
