A core memory from my childhood is when I caught a huge jumping spider, it was really pretty that's why I wanted to put it in a jar just to look at it for a while, but she made a nest right where the lid of the jar and the jar met and I didn't want to disturb her so I kept her a little longer and sure enough babies hatched! Then we released them. It was pretty cool.

This was VERY interesting to me ! I raised baby house spiders in my bathroom ! At least , they looked like house spiders to me ! I collected the mother spider and her egg sac and I put them in a container that I had from something else . As the eggs were developing in the egg sac , I would stun crane flies and I would take off one of it's wings and give it to the mother spider and she would eat the juice out of it . About 12 - 14 days later , the spiderlings hatched out of the egg sac !!! There were around 237 of them !!!! I left them in the container with the mother spider until they were about 3 - 4 days old and then , I took them outside and I got a stick that was about a foot long and I stuck the stick down into the webs and I kind of GENTLY stirred the webs around in the container and I put the mother spider WITH her spiderlings in the woods (on some leaves) and I told them that I loved them and to have a good life . I turned around and I left them in the woods and I went inside and I began watching TV . I also raised an orb weaver spider's egg in her egg sac because my next door neighbor KILLED THE MOTHER SPIDER !!!!! I WAS SOOOOO ANGRY THAT HE DID THAT !!!!! The egg sac opened up a little bit and some of the spiderlings started to climb out of the egg sac ! I had to put it in a different container than the one that I used for the house spider and her spiderlings ! I waited until some more spiderlings hatched out of the egg sac and I put THOSE spiderlings in the woods in a different place than the other ones and I told them to have a good life , too !!!!! That is the end of my raising of the spiders !!!! I would do it again if I had to !!!!!!

Tarantula Kat just recently bred jumping spiders, too, so if you're interested in learning more about them and maybe further overcoming your fear, she'd be a great one to check out! 😊 If you eventually feel comfortable enough you could then move on to her tarantula videos. I highly recommend her, Petko at "The Dark Den", Tom Moran of "Tom's Big Spiders" blog (his channel on YT is just his name), and Richard at "The Tarantula Collective". They all have their own style; some focus more on husbandry and education, some just focus on their love of spiders, but they're all entertaining. Also important is that I see _a lot_ of comments on their channels talking about how their videos and enthusiasm have helped people overcome their fear and even full-blown aracnophobia! Cheers!

I'm not scared of spiders digitally lol, I actually think they're cute if I don't have to deal with them. Even tarantulas too

You're the only one that can make an audible ad so entertaining and funny. Emily wrangling spiders is like mashing Exotic's Lair and Dark Den combined (in a good way! XD)

I'm super sick right now. Waiting for Covid results. That being said, the gnome with the knife gave me my first smile and giggle today.

Spiders mating has all the eroticism and romance of stuffing a mattress full of TNT with red-hot razor blades.

I wish I can describe my appreciation in words, but I just can’t Thank you so much for curing my fear of spiders and snakes.

You need to make containers that have an airlock system! That way you can connect the airlock to the container with the live food in, and coax the food into the airlock. Then transfer the airlock to the spider container, and coax the food to enter the spider container. Or, use a suitable "Pooter"!

I had a Phidippus carneus that I got from a reptile show who laid a massive egg-sac. A few months later they hatched! Over 100 little ones! That was two and a half years ago and I still have 5 from that! I sent a large portion to another jumping spider breeder while I kept about 20.

I separated each one of those 100+ into little cups as well. Sometimes if I tapped on the lid, one would just fall, but then climb right back up like a tiny little SPIDER YOYO! Only a few ever got out, and the ones that did, by some stroke of luck, just reappeared climbing on Muffet's (my pink toe tarantula) cage

You & Ed are amazing! I genuinely am in awe of how much you love and care for your animals, both at the zoo and at your home. I wish I had half your ambition and drive. 💕

I bred some wild jumping spiders for fun in highschool and it made for some cute spiderling photoshoots! I released them into the wild. I had some mesh closed between the lid and base of the kritter keeper to prevent baby escapees.

This is the video I've been waiting for since Emily said she was going to breed those teeny spiders! Emily attempting to wrangle teeny tiny baby spiders. It did not disappoint.
