The next time you guys pass through Vegas, you should take time to visit Springs Preserve. It's a museum complex, of sorts, that deals the history of the Vegas area. What you'll probably really like is the natural history museum there which includes a small zoo which features reptiles and small mammals. It's off the strip, but not too far out and I think it would be right your guy's alley.

The next time you're in California you should stop at a boba tea shop, any one. The good ones will have all kinds of boba milk teas, slushy type tea drinks, and fruity tea drinks, all with or without boba. They're not all over CA, but anywhere in CA where there's a decent Asian population you'll find at least one. There's probably around at least 10 within a few square miles of where I live.
