This is an excellent video that I first watched about two months ago, and again today. I use a Warthog HOTAS and the TPR Pedals. Soon after I watched your video for the first time, I ordered the CM2 base, 100mm extension, the TMW Throttle adapter, V3 large mount and the V3 small mount. It took about one month to receive the order from Virpil to the US, using Fedex Express. I mounted the Warthog grip with 100mm extension, with about a 15 degree CCW offset, so that I can position the grip centered on my chair, using the V3 large mount. I mounted the throttle using the small mount. I had forgotten about your comments about the medium spring providing more tension than the heavier spring. I left the default cam, as I recalled you had done the same. I switched to the heavier spring, and thought it was just me.... I felt that the heavier spring had less tension than when using the medium spring. I just watched your review again and realize that this is indeed the case. I will be switching back to the medium spring. I liked the Warthog base, and thought it was good, but wow, it is now amazing with CM2 base and extension. The Virpil hardware seems to be very well built and I am more than happy with the sturdiness of the mounts. I spend most of my time with the UH-1 in DCS, and cannot wait for Virpil to release a collective. I also use it with the rest of the DCS modules and IL2. Thanks again for making the video, it did point me in the right direction between which base to get. The CM2 was right for me.

I just don't know if I would be willing to buy the MongoosT-50CM2 for €289.95. If I buy two of them with the new joystick coming out it would be over $1,000 USD. Is it really worth it? I don't want to buy the cheaper option knowing that I would not be as happy with it. I did some calculations on how much a good Virpil setup would cost, that is without the desk mount. VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base is €289.95 VPC Constellation ALPHA-L is €179.95 290+290+180+180= €940 to dollars= $1,042.94 United States Dollars. VPC WarBRD Base is €169.95 even then, with two cheaper bases the price is €700 or $776.57 with the joystick and base. The T1600m is $130 for dual joysticks its a good value even if the base buttons feel cheap.

Thanks for another awesome video. You've become my goto source for Virpil info before this large purchase (wink wink Virpil...hook this guy up with everything as it drops). I'm mostly getting a HOSAS setup for Star Citizen and maybe some Elite...but starting to dabble with DCS FA-18C so likely going throttle also. Would I be disappointed with the resistance of the WarBrd for DCS? I'm currently using an X52 Pro on a desktop...so its tough to know what I want out of a proper desk-mounted setup...

I am planning on upgrading my flight setup. Currently using an excellent modded Hotas Cougar (Hall sensors, improved gimble) that belongs to a friend, who left it in my care when he moved. I also have my own unmodded Cougar, with spiking pots (both hotas are probably 20+ years old) . Anyway, friend got a Warthog and is very satisfied with the system, and this was (until now) my preferred option. I am a casual simmer, but planning on be more active. I mostly fly WW2 sims (IL-2 BOS), and want to have a "compact" setup, meaning I don't want a permanent mount on the table, I want to have a folding stand, like you can use with Warthog. To be honest here - Warthog would more than satisfy my flight sim needs, and I love well made, sturdy products (reason i got Cougar in the first place). However, Warthog seems to have inferior mechanics, plus, Virpil looks sick and is, to a degree, upgradable and can last you a lifetime of, I guess, superior experience. I am also planning on buying a VR headset (HP Reverb on wishlist), so would be using mostly or entirely in VR setup. So my options so far: 1. Original wishlist: TM Warthog + some rudder pedals + folding stand// least expensive, least fuss 2. VPC WarBRD Base + VPC WarBRD Grip + TWCS (or Warthog) throttle + some rudder pedals// better stick, sliding throttle 3. VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base + VPC WarBRD Grip + TWCS (or Warthog) throttle + some rudder pedals + needed hardware 4. VPC WarBRD Base + VPC WarBRD Grip + VPC MongoosT-50CM Throttle + some rudder pedals + needed hardware// better stick, better throttle 5. VPC WarBRD Base + VPC WarBRD Grip + VPC MongoosT-50CM Throttle + VPC ACE-1 Rudder Pedals + needed hardware// all VPC setup 6. VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base + VPC WarBRD Grip + VPC MongoosT-50CM Throttle + VPC ACE-2 Rudder Pedals + needed hardware// going bananas As you can imagine price difference between option 1 and option 5 is significant. So my questions are: How well do VPC components mix&match with other flight controls? Can VPC components be fitted on standard folding stands? If not, could I just have an adapter plate made (I know someone who can cut and drill the piece)? If I decide to go with full VPC setup (options 5,6) are Virpil prepared to offer some extra discounts? Any special conditions for sales/shipping in EU zone? If bought via company, is VAT still included in the price? (Note to all: VAT in EU is additional 20% (varies on country I think) ) Sorry for hijacking your party, I need answers! :) Thank you all in advance.

Now detailed MT50 - Gunfighter comparison, please, grips included! What I do not really understand is why they use classic slot bolts for tension settings - that groove is in my experience the one that suffers from the damage the most. Why not also hex or torx? With slot you have to visually check that screwdriver fits in, for hex/torx etc. you can do that blindfold. It is almost idiot-proof :)

So, it's probably going to be a long while before I can justify the $$$ for a dual stick virpil alpha setup... who knows, maybe by the time I can drpo the kind of cash it would take, there will be another gimbal available, but I figured I would ask anyways. I've heard that the WarBRD is the better option for "smoother resistance" from another SC player/youtuber and they mentioned that the CM2 base would probably be better for longer extensions since they increase the "weight" that the gimbal sees due to the longer lever. I definitely feel like I want to set up with long sticks for that more realistic feel and more precise control, what do you think about the "weight" issue? Would the WarBRD handle the longer extension without it making things feel a bit looser or floppy from the added leverage on the gimbal?

Been waiting for this one. I have a humble suggestion for a video someday, if you can get some Thrustmaster TPR pedals, please review them. They are the only high quality pedals that I can get shipped within Canada. Everything else is US or EU with huge import fees (hundreds of dollars). They are pricey though, however they seem quite nice. Thanks for the hard work making these! Edit after finishing: I really want this base now. Was considering the Warbird, but ultimately I will be using an extension whenever it's finished, so this seems best. Also that Alpha grip seems fantastic. I hope it has an analogue brake pinky lever and not a digital one.
@andreilukyanau14975 жыл бұрын
Why don't you like a digital brake lever (axis)?
@9GLoco5 жыл бұрын
The TPRs are awesome. I picked up a set earlier this month. A virtual axis for breaks is not realistic at all. It the idea is to sim, then accuracy is pretty important. A physical set of pedals will also be far far more precise than a stick based one due to the larger travel.
@Rivers2565 жыл бұрын
@@andreilukyanau1497 Analogue is much more accurate, a full axis instead of on/off. I could deal with a digital one though, especially if I end up with a set of pedals. I only need it for planes with such a pinky brake. (Yak-52 for me)

@DennisJohnson353 жыл бұрын
I love it when so called experts “educate” us with their knowledge. Duraluminum is used today. It is the name that is not used . This aluminum alloy mainly uses copper as it alloying element. The international standard nomenclature for this type of ally is classified as 2000 series aluminum grades. Popular grades are 2011, 2014, and 2024. And yes, there are Aircraft quality grades of aluminum. 2024, 7075 are two grades extensively used in the manufacture of aircraft parts. There are Mil-S and AMS specs for these grades. Look em up… I know this because I sold these types of materials for over 30 years. …just sayin’ Keep these reviews coming Jesse! They are very well done.
