Wow look at thing grow and grow! I was honestly not as hyped about a European colony. Thinking it wouldn't have as many insects and diverse populations. Boy has this proved me wrong! This setup has so much potential and it's great to see how you are constantly trying to make sure that no one species becomes overly dominant. Like the nightmare slugs hordes in Thai vivarium. Cant wait for the Next episode.

RETURN OF THE KING!!! the white isopod you found definitely didn't just molt, because isopods mould one half at a time! Source: I keep isopods(specifically porcellio laevis & Armadilidium vulgare). That's just how its colored ^^ I'm no expert, but I think those 'pods in the shot u have are Oniscus asellus or some other oniscus sp? Tip just in case: If you ever find a "bright blue" isopod in your vivarium, look up "iridovirus" and take the infected pod out of the vivarium, it is fatal and could spread to others :(

If you want to control the isopod population i suggest you add some centipedes. Also for the pond, don't add to many plants and let it be somewhat muddy bcoz that is what you see in nature, not always lush green ecosystems. Add some really nice river rocks too. Can't wait to see how it turns out. P.S: You have the most Fantastic vivarium in all of KZbin.

Find a huge colony and just grab a smaller portion of it(10-20%of it!) :D injuring the queen is always a risk I guess.

@@nordicants6232 so luck essentially? with wood ants they build pretty huge nests. i have alot of them nearby, do they live inside the piles of wood the create (formica rufa) or do they reside deeper in the ground. ive contemplated making some y-tong nests, and burying them next to nests then disturbing the nest without killing but enough to force a move in hopes theyd use the ytong then collect it.
