After watching today's video, I decided to take a look at the beginning, Al you've come a long way

Thank you. I have been using this machine for a short time at my shop with minimal training. This video answered questions I didn’t know I needed to ask. You showed me things I didn’t know about the machine. Things that I don’t think my teacher knows about it. Like I didn’t realize I can Raise and lower the camera lol. He never showed me that.

I was thinking in investing in one, but i work at a fast place environment to many steps to this by the time I'm done we've sold 3 sets of tires installed with balance and torqued and made $900 in used tires or $2400 in new tires.. I'm very impatient I like to sell fast, service fast.. what do u think shud I risk 1bay for a wheel alignment to make $75-$125 per car and then if customer has suspension issues u wasted your time in lifting the vehicle and following all the steps but the adjusting of the tie rod step. And the other question would u open a separate shop just to do wheel alignment EXPRESS no mechanic no tires just one thing.. maybe then I won't be impatient.. I have a very busy tire shop what do you suggest?

so this is where your Snap on tools came from. You have the same box as I do from Snap On. I liked doing alignments with good equipment.

Al, since I am a huge fan....I thouhjt I would try to view all or most of your viould have had you as a sShop teacher in deos. i just started warching in 2020 so I have a ways to go. You are one heck of a mechanic and homesteader...I am really liking your journey...I wish I could have gad you as a Shop teacher in Jr High, I would have learned a ton.

That was interesting to watch. With insurance regulations nobody gets to see what the tech' s do anymore. Just give them you wallet and try not to cry in public. :-) Well I have watched all of the videos as of now. Lots of fun and it was fun watching Olivia grow young as I watched backwards. Now to get me some cider. You and the family keep up the hard work on the homestead.

I would check for a loose steering parts before ever recommending an alignment to a customer! But nice alignment machine there great to use

It was fairly intense . your video was a huge help though and they offered me a position. Had to watch the guy i might be replacing and critique him back to the owner and then borrow his tools and do an alignment on a lifted 2011 ford f150. Of course the tie rod ends were too long and had to be cut off too as part of the lift kit instructions. Super nice machine though. Thanks again.

This is only an option on the higher specification John Bean models. Not all of them have the ability to "Auto Track".

We use this machine at work. When making camber adjustments I have either take Weight of the wheels or jack them up which changes my camber reading is there a feature on the machine that compensates the reading when you jack it up so you can make an adjustment to spec? Or do you have to do the calculation in your head the difference needed to adjust versus the camber change when you jack it up. What is the turn in fearture used for? Like the over compensate feature you use

Why didn't you jack up the car on the lift to check the suspension components for worn parts, or adjust the tire pressure to spec before doing the alignment?

Wondering if any one has the spec's on this computer. Computer had a major malfunction and can't find a replacement. Would appreciate if someone could get the processor information from the windows systeminfo? Can't read the numbers off the chip because it literally smoked, but was running Windows Vista. Doesn't look like they will be supporting a 64 bit computer on this system. Thanks for any help.

In 40 years i have never seen a shop center the steering wheel.. dispite my objections, they all lock the steering wheel with the key

Dont you have to centre the steering wheel afterwards and what is the situation with airbags.

you center the wheel before you make the adjustment. what about the airbags

Modern cars have steering wheels which contain an airbag. You would have to remove the steering wheel to centre it which may set off the airbag. I would assume that the steering wheel would be incorrectly positioned after steering adjustments.

MsCelicagt4 you center the steering wheel lock it with the lock that comes with the machine. And then you make your adjustments and the wheel will be straight and the car will go straight

Good Video but you only did a 2/3 alignment. No caster swing to see where the caster is at? That's not a full alignment. Caster causes pull or drift if out of specs and it takes a few seconds to do.

Question about the sofware used: *if anyone knows* : Does it run on windows? Or does the disc contain an operating system built in? I'm asking for an old friend that owns the machine, but is having problems starting the software, and no money to have the dealer fix / replace the system. The PC has a CMOS error, and I told him to first try a new battery. Knowing if the software runs on windows instead of its own operating system would be a ton of help. Thank you in advance.

Ps. He is an older gentleman that is not computer savy. Asking him if windows was on the computer,... well... he doesn't know the answer. He hits the power button, comes back to align wheels, then power buttons the machine off. (Which is something not windows friendly.)
