One of the finalists (not the winner) in the Chalamet lookalike competition went to my university. I had the displeasure of interacting with him a few times. He was known for being very pretentious and narcissistic, as well as only hitting on freshman girls when he was a senior. One of the clubs he was in did an "awards show" for the year where the "hosts" made a joke comparing him to Leonardo DiCaprio and peoples jaws dropped. He got PISSED about it. He "casually" wore a skirt once and wouldn't shut up about it because he wanted people to clap and call him a feminist icon or something. He was like a minor campus celebrity for being completely insufferable. Seeing this competition in the news and knowing that this guy is in all the photos has been my curse for the past several weeks. I haven’t watched any KZbin videos about it purely from spite but I will never skip a Jordan vid lmao

I recently discovered ikea as a third space.. you can meet your friend walk around sit on couches talk and have a cheap meal/snack. I did this with a friend recently to search for decor inspo and it felt like a very present experience

Yes! Free tea and coffee on weekdays for the IKEA fam, good wheelchair access, no-one hassles you if you hang out for ages and don't buy anything. I mean, they filmed the soap IKEA Heights without getting kicked out! I also know someone who had an IKEA birthday party where there's a list of games to play in store, totally free and goofy fun

I say this a semi-consistent viewer and a long time subscriber, we came here to watch you talk! I know being a talker (video essayist, professional yapper, educator, etc) on the internet requires a lot of lampshading to avoid super annoying comments but Idk i feel like every time you remind us “you’re not beating a dead horse” i find my response to be “i know you’re just getting to your point? Exploring the topic?” You would sound more confident if there was a little less “i’m not just talking to talk” bc i’m here to watch you talk. I’m here to listen to what came to mind when reflecting upon this topic. Just because it’s maybe unserious doesn’t mean i don’t have a genuine interest in what you have to say. Again, maybe it’s just internet culture now but i’m here to listen!

Enjoy your break!! Also wanted to come on and say that I'm loving the silly videos. when you live in a wasteland of consumption and hypercommodification, you can't form identity through self-cultivation or expression or any real exploration of artforms/education. So you just subsume the self to the branding of another.

I think when lookalikes get told by the celebrity to stop impersonating them (eg ari asked paige to stop) they really should just comply. I feel like its just basic decency and respect idk and like also dont make of using the impersonation???like it feels super off for me like crossing the acceptable boundaries.

When i was young, i also bought into the “women aren’t funny” thing bc my comedy diet was all raunchy tv shows and netflix specials. Took me a long time to realize that i just wasn’t being exposed to enough women comedians. Like yea if there are 3 female stand-up specials to every dozen male ones, its gna stand out more when i dont like 2 of the former vs 2 of the later. Tiktok especially was a game changer for me. The women comedians of tiktok regularly make me cry laughing

The love is blind guy would be lucky to have her, she's really pretty and she does kinda look like megan fox in her face, like only the center including her eyes, eye brows, nose, and mouth. It's just her jaw and head shape/size that doesn't fit what people are also expecting of a megan fox lookalike. And honestly the same for the guy and his lookalike celeb.
