Severus Snape was the real hero "The bravest man i ever knew" Always
@anandjha54575 ай бұрын
If you read books he is no where close to hero . Snape heard the prophecy only half and told that to voldemort. That prophecy hinted towards two boys . Harry born and voldemort choose Harry because of his half blood status . All this chaos was started by Snape who was death Eater . He changed afterwards but that means he is a grey character not hero . Sirius was the real hero . Being in the family which was filled with dark wizard he choose his friendship . He remain in azkaban for years . Died saving Harry and his friends.
@barbarazirger77325 ай бұрын
Snape's character totally went over your head! Baby Harry is alive because it was Snape who heard the prophecy who told Voldemort, who dared to ask him to spare Lily. That's what gave Lily TIME to protect Harry with her life! And of course he couldn't ask the dark lord to spare Harry, or even James. Harry would be able to destroy Voldemort, why would the dark lord want to keep him alive?? So if it wasn't Snape, if it was someone else or if it happened a year or two later, the prophecy would have come out and they all 3 would have been killed. So Severus Snape had a lot to do with keeping baby Harry alive too. No one else could have done what he did then or the last war nobody could be a double or excuse me a triple agent like he was. No one could fool the dark lord like he did, risking his life every time he lied to him. He had a part to play, and he played it so well that he even allowed those who cared about his colleagues his friends to hate him to wish him dead then tell them the truth which would put their lives in jeopardy. At the end Harry even knows how brave he was, and how wrong he was about him. Do you know that Bloomsbury, the publisher of the HP books, did their own poll a while back, and Severus Snape was the favorite character in the books too... By a country mile.... Their words not mine. And of course we know that in the movies Severus Snape was voted the most favorite character too. JK said of Snape, the one you think cared the least was the one who loved the most. That's who Severus Snape is

@@anandjha5457 Not hardly. I admit him going to prison for something he didn't do was bad and that's Dumbledore's fault. You know Dumbledore didn't want him to have a trial because Sirius was Harry's Guardian and Godfather and he would go to him when his parents died, and that's not what Dumbledore wanted he wanted him to go to the dursleys because of the bloodline. That also shows how bad Dumbledore could be too. But Sirius is no hero in my book. He started bullying Severus with James when they first went to Hogwarts and kept up for 7 years. Making life miserable for a poor abused child who wanted Hogwarts to be his family. And have you forgotten how he actually almost got Severus killed by his own friend Lupin? And how they weren't punished, they got detention I think. They should have all been expelled!! Again Dumbledore was horrible. He barely punished the Marauders. If Snape had been killed or bitten, they could have gone to prison. Sirius never apologized and said at the time that Snape deserved it. And Dumbledore gave no support or comfort to a15 year old traumatized Snape! In fact Dumbledore told Snape if he uttered a word about it to anyone, HE would be the one expelled and if that wasn't good enough he was going to obliviate him!! A child mind you! No, Severus is the hero here, and the bravest man just like Harry came to realize

@@mirzu42 It's not just some theory. JK Rowling herself stated that Snape was the only Death Eater who could cast a full patronus. But this is more because they don't have a use for it, as they've become desensitized to dark creatures (from Pottermore).
@barbarazirger77325 ай бұрын
@@mirzu42Its true because JK said it was, besides it is told that a very powerful dark wizard produced a patronus once, and he was eaten from the inside out by worms. Once you've killed someone, maliciously, with no remorse, then your soul is broken and you can't produce a patronus. Snape never fit into that category, because if he did kill, he did not do it with that intent or purpose. And if he did, he certainly restored it with his sacrifices he made by being a double agent, protecting Harry. We know he could produce a beautiful patronus because we see it, and Harry saw it. So Severus Snape was the only death eaters who could produce a patronus and other than Voldemort, the only DE who could fly without a broom. Snape was pretty special

Doing the right thing for the wrong reasons does not make you a good person. The movies took out the most damaging snape lines out of these memories. Snape told dumbledore he does not care if Harry and James die. That does not sound like the right thing to do. He was the one to tell voldemort the prophecy so he really wouldnt care if anyone else than lily died. Even J.K has said this isnt supposed to be a redemption for snape. Snape was basically just looking for revenge for voldie killing lily. If voldemort had killed neville’s family instead snape would still be by his side. That is why I dont think he is a good person. He is still my favourite character but please dont try to justify his actions. Just because someone is evil doesnt mean its not a great character.

Coming from a fan who is the same age as Daniel Radcliffe, grew up with the books, read the books prior to movies, here´s my take on Snape memory: This is unequivocally the MAJOR plot twist in the entire series, because Snape turned out to be the hero from the man we all hated up until this moment. Snape played double characters in the sense that on one hand he fooled Voldemort by spying on Dumbledore, when in reality his love for Lily was so strong that he decided to deceive Voldemort on Dumbledore´s orders. He never hated Harry, he hated the spit image of James Potter (the very same man who bullied Snape during school and made his life miserable and then married to the girl he loved). That´s why Snape always acted so mean and cruel towards Harry, but at the same time he saw Lily in him as well, he has his mother´s eyes. So everytime Snape looks into Harry´s eyes, he sees the only human being whom he truly loved. The one person mentioned here whom Lily and James put the wrong faith in it, was Peter Pettigrew (the dude that was a rat named Scabbers and lived with Ron for 16 years up until Voldemort returned in GOF and made him human again. It was Pettigrew who betrayed Harry´s parents and that is why they died. Snape´s character is a masterclass in writing and for me personally, his death made me cry harder than Dumbledore, because Snape embodies the "never judge a book by its cover" phrase. When I saw this movie in cinema, during this scene, EVERYONE in the entire cinema went completely silent. You could legit hear people breath, that´s how silent it was. Nobody said a word. When Harry then goes down the stairs and sits down, THEN people started to cry like crazy, including me. Finally, the reason why VOLDEMORT himself had to kill Harry, is because Voldemort never REALIZED that Harry WAS the 7th hocrux. He did not kill Harry, he killed his own hocrux, that is why Harry could survive. Also pay attention to the Resurrection Stone, because remember what Dumbledore said to harry in the first movie? (only the one who no intend to use the stone will be able to find it). So essentially, the reason why Dumbledore left Harry the Snitch, is because he HID the resurrection stone IN IT, so Harry could open it "at the end".

When your love for someone burns brighter than fear, it can rewrite the very fabric of your soul, transforming your patronus into a reflection of that unyielding devotion. Lily and James Potter put their faith and trust in Peter Pettigrew. However, Peter betrayed them and revealed where the Potters were hidden. Voldemort was aware of the prophecy that Trelawney foretold regarding a boy who was about to be born at the end of July. However, Harry was not the only one; there was a second boy, Neville Longbottom. After Neville's parents were tortured into insanity, Voldemort decided to kill Harry, marking him as his equal. Another detail that is often overlooked is that Snape's Patronus was a female deer-the exact deer that showed Harry where the sword was hidden. When Dumbledore saw Snape's Patronus, he responded, "Lily." Dumbledore was Lily's teacher and knew that her Patronus was a female deer, like Snape's. Snape had the same Patronus as Lily because he loved her.

There was an element from the book that I think it was probably sensible to not include. One time, when James was bullying Snape yet again, Lily stood up for him, but either insecurity or frustration drove Snape to reject her help by calling her a mudblood. He instantly regretted it, but damage was done, as it ended their friendship, and pushed her into James' orbit. So, probably for the best to not use that part, since it makes Snape less sympathetic

@@satyakidas7045 I agree, however, with film, such mixed concepts are much harder to pull off, especially in a 5 minutes sequence, which is why I think it made sense to not include the slur in the memory montage. If anything, the memory sequence could be expanded into its own movie, which can include things like Snape's Muggle father who was abusive to his mother and him, hence Snape's initial disdain with Muggles that drove him towards the Death Eaters. It also explains the "mudblood" thing as merely a subconscious trauma from his father, rather than any hatred against Lily. But as stated, the montage doesn't have the time to explore all of the aspects of Snape's character.

"don't tell me now you've grown to care for the boy." ahem, headmaster, the two previous sentences "you kept alive so he could die at the proper moment.... you've been raising him like a pig for slaughter!" are JUST answering your question. In all honesty, i would've hated james potter, and I actually do. As for lily, congrats on marrying a bully (it's not a way to put it, it's the way it is, and i fucking hate bullies) while the best you could have committed his life to protect your son way after your death.

you do realise he was a bully at school, right? and evidently not during his actual adult years? people can in fact grow and change even if they're fictional
