What app or software do you use to edit your images?

No other option. Lightroom mobile cc. Skylum luminar is in my mind for future. Looking to upgrade my monitor and windows version. (Currently using 2gb ram, which is not good for photo editing)

Just a few thoughts. In my Lightroom mobile in addition to raw photos there are other things such as selective, healing and geometry is not free, so for me Snapseed is perhaps a bit better. For newbies Lightroom mobile has an auto feature, which gives us an idea of what the AI thinks is ideal. This gives a different perspective.

You are by far my favorite youtube channel to learn about photography - I'm an old school photographer that learned on film and did a bit with digital, but now I am loving learning more about it and you are so awesome to listen to. You get to the point and always answer my questions before the video ends! Awesome vid. Also - I'm a total snapseed lover, but I may have to give lightroom a try! Thanks again!

Thank you so much Jessica for watching my videos and taking the time to post your feedback - it is very much appreciated. I hope you will continue to watch and hopefully I can come up with more tips and tricks top help you take even better photos. Paul @ Photo Genius.

As a rookie in all photography and editing software, i've started using lightroom when i'm indoors and snapseed when out. Always trying to figure out how everything works, either asking or searching internet (Paul here is miles ahead from many others), or watching videos. Thanks for the support Paul and keep on your good work.

@Snapseed Brush option allows you to edit a particular Area of the image Whereas @Lightroom you can play with Color options... Both are amazing.

I've used Snapseed for years, amazing and powerful editing features and none of it is hidden behind a paywall. I sometimes use Pixlr in conjunction with snapseed as it has a couple of features like colour splash that snapseed doesn't have yet. I've never had a problem importing raw files into snapseed, I shoot with a Canon 750D and transfer the pics over to my phone using the cameras Wifi capability and canon's camera connect app.

If you cannot connect an external mic then you would need to record your audio seperately and then combine in post processing.

Hi Paul, I've only recently picked up on your videos & now I am gradually working my way through them. I've found them very clear & precise, so much so that it's resurrected my interest in photography. I'm using my trusty old Canon 7D which adequatly suits my needs at the moment, my question is: are you aware of a card reader similar to the one you use that will cope with the CF card that Canon use in my camera. Also like a few others have mentioned I would love a more in depth video of Lightroom if you could manage it. Cheers George
@photogenius5 жыл бұрын
Hi George, although Compact Flash (CF) is not as popular as it was there are still plenty of card readers available (see link below) that will work just fine. I'm am considering putting together a beginners Lightroom video very soon. amzn.to/2TezUg2 Thanks for watching and supporting. Paul.

I know this may seem a daft question, but do you edit a picture in a particular sequence, such as adjusting exposure first followed by contrast then highlights or colour balance. I sometimes get into a bit of a mess because I've overdone one particular effect and I try and correct it with another. Do you know what a mean ?. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul, I usually start with exposure (inc highlights and shadows) then look at WB, contrast and maybe sharpening etc... Best wishes.

After I edit my photos - and, Yes, Snapseed is fantastic - I plan to print them as 8x10 (20x25 cm) prints, perhaps one size larger. As far as quality, at those print sizes, will there be a noticeable difference between one taken in JPEG and one taken and RAW? My camera is the Canon 2000D?

I have a Canon EOS 700D and use Snapseed on my Android phone and tablet. As Snapseed can't read .cr2 (Canon Raw Files), I convert them to dng files using an app from the Playstore called raw2dng, once converted Snapseed has no problem opening the new raw file..

Nice video. I have a second hand canon 760D and Snapseed handles the raw files great. It’s worth mentioning on Snapseed you really need to go into the settings and up the quality that it saves the images, otherwise it saves them as a small file. I normally save as a PNG. I like lightroom too. What I really like about the mobile version is on my cheep android tablet I can use a touch pen. Actually two touch pens instead of my fingers and it makes editing easier without smudges on the screen Really enjoying your videos. I never knew about the histogram and what it did until watching your video. It’s particularly useful on my smaller canon compact that saves in jpeg so I don’t loose details in clouds and highlights
