I’m curious about your opinion on senior 60-80 year throwing velocities for men wanting to play competitive ASA or USSSA tournament teams. And how to maintain velocity with age.

I dont have data on 60-80 years olds, so I'd be speculating

My 8 year old daughter just hit 44 mph. I was a D1 pitcher throwing low 90s. Are the arm strength development routines the same for softball as baseball? She loves throwing a baseball because she is so much more confident in being able to snap off good throws. I’m trying to encourage her to still throw the softball some. Should I let her throw the baseball more?

I think throwing a Baseball is the best thing you can possibly do as a young girl. Mechanics are the same. Arm strength routines are the same. The reason most girls throw so poorly is the softball itself. It’ll transfer just fine later one. Let her throw the baseball all she wants.

Dan, love the videos. My daughter is almost 13 and hit her growth spurt over the past year- she’s always been one of, if not the best players on her travel team (lower level A team). She plays multiple positions and is almost always the best. How do I help her start to specialize in one specific position? She is mainly used as a catcher, but she also pitches, plays outfield,and third base. Looking at it objectively, I think if she worked on third she could be outstanding. Is this something that she may work out herself, or could I help her to choose a position she’ll be most successful at? She is only 13, but I don’t think HS coaches want girls who can play anywhere. They are looking for who can fill holes in the lineup or who’s the best at a specific position.

teams will put her where she's best, and if she's a top player then she'll have her pick of positions. Training her for a position doesnt mean much of anything if she isnt put there in games. Coaches absolutely want players who can play multiple positions because they can fill more holes.

Question my daughter is 11 and has 4 season under her belt but i really haven’t seen the progress in her game any good ideas on how to unleash that softball player in her
@SnapSoftball2 жыл бұрын
if she hasnt seen progress in 4 years then she isn't practicing nearly enough, or isnt focusing when she does practice, or both. Four years is an eternity in player development

This isn’t related to throwing but recently I emailed college coaches i was interested in their school before attending a camp. Only one responded with a filler email. Does this mean the others aren’t interested or did that one college coach break NCAA recruiting rules? I’m only a rising sophomore.
