My daughter and I have done this ~1x a week for this past fall and spring seasons and it’s really helped in all the ways you laid out in this video. Great explanations and info.

Do you recommend the step behind or is there benefit to a crow hop or shuffle with the long toss?

step-behinds and shuffles are best for improving mechanics, without a doubt

Hey Dan, if I throw and the balls go straight to the floor, what exactly is it that I must work on?
@SnapSoftball2 жыл бұрын
making adjustments. if they're repeatedly going into the ground, it's a problem with your focus, not mechanics.

So a baseball feels lighter than a baseball in addition to being smaller. So my impression is that a baseball will help us develop accuracy and speed. Your thoughts?

Think of it this way - if you tried learning how to throw with a cantaloupe, do you think you could create the same throwing mechanics as a person learning with a softball? The size and weight just prevents the body from getting into certain positions, which are then hard to unlearn later. I think it helps the body figure out the best mechanics to throw with on its own (why baseball players have much better mechanics than softball players, in most instances), and yes, allows the arm to move faster.
