My 10 yo daughter is petite and she has a habit of dropping her elbow when she throws. Your channel is helping us get to proper technique. Thank you.

Awesome video I plan on sharing with my daughter, as she been trying to increase her power and efficiency throwing. I was hoping you would have touched on the release, more specifically what your hand is orientated from release through the follow through. Any videos on that???

There are many other videos on those topics on this channel yes

What's the advantage of pulling the elbow behind the plane of the chest? I see lots of quarterback coaches, specifically, recommended against that, and encourage minimal elbow takebak. Does it involve the difference between throwing a softball and football?
@SnapSoftball2 жыл бұрын
i dont know about throwing footballs. But, it shouldnt be different there either - throwing is throwing. The best throwers in the world are baseball players, and 100% of them do this - called scapular loading - and softball players struggle with it because they're so poorly taught at young ages. It's 100% necessary. "Connects" the arm with the upper body as it rotates so it doesnt jump ahead and push the ball.

Would an incorrect throwing posture cause pain in the forearm.
@SnapSoftball5 жыл бұрын
Maybe. It’s hard to pin things down exactly with cause and effect, but better mechanics can often clean up pain and dysfunction.

@@SnapSoftball So,when you say a girl throws 65 mph,where is she standing? 50 feet away?60 feet away?
@SnapSoftball2 жыл бұрын
thats not how radar guns work; they read velocity out of the hand - distance does not matter.

@@SnapSoftball Got it.My 13.5 year old daughter just played in the All American Games in Oklahoma last week. Softball Factory measured some of her metrics there. Overhand throwing velocity was 57 mph.In watching her,if she fully followed thru,it could be higher.Something to work on.
