Something really coincidental and awesome just happened a few moments ago as I was walking out of my car while listening to this song. The first melody had just started playing for a bar or so after the rhythm section intro, and a car alarm from my neighbourhood just went "yee-oh yee-oh yee-oh yee-oh". Guess what? "Yee" on the beat, "-oh" on the offbeat. Exactly in time!! I stopped and checked the timing for a whole minute outside my house, thinking the tempi might deviate soon, but nope, the total synchronization just kept up until right just now someone (presumably the car owner) switched off the alarm. Damn man. If only my phone battery was charged this morning... I would've recorded this and shared it!! :D

Man, that bit at 7:45 is brilliant. That casually slipped in, insanely impressive synth bass rundown that just makes Michael League go 'Whoa, where did that come from?!' Awesome. I've only recently (well, in the last 12 months) got into Snarky Puppy. I love the fact there is a kind of rotating cast and like so many late converts came to them via the Lingus vid that has so many hits on KZbin. Because of that, I was only aware of the material with Larnell Lewis on drums, but I have to say I'm loving Sput Searights work on this. I've seen a version of Binky with Larnell behind the kit on the Dunlop Sessions and I have to say I prefer this. Sput brings a different vibe to the song. I love how they both bring a different interpretation to Snarky Puppy and yet it is still definitely Snarky Puppy. I'm rambling, mi gusta.
