To most effectively kill pops, there must be some free air between the different material layers - maybe try something like the longer SM7B foam (the thick or the thin one), and don't push it down to the grill, but leave a 10mm air gap between the foam piece's internal front barrier and the grill.

Thanks Tom, and there's the issue, keeping it looking nice-ish and keeping the proximitiy. It so happens that the V7 foam keeps a little space from the top of the grille due to a little thickening around its inside edge. P.s. I don't find the SM7B foam that great and hear many pops online from incautious users.

seems there's sounds from two mics being recorded?

Camera mic picking up sound of 314 from PA in room. Not ideal but enough to see and hear foam.
