SNEAK PEAK - 1 Of 150 Subaru WRX 2024 Club Spec | Closest Thing To A STI?

Welcome back to another great segment of Shift Into Gear...
Today we have something special to show you, a sneak peak you might call it, not necessary a review but something as good.
The limited edition it is the WRX Club Spec which is 1 of 150 in the Australian market, we all have grown up to either drive a WRX and with the discontinuation of the STI is this subaus answer for its replacement?
These cars are modern classics compared to the current market with cars such as the Volkswagen golf R, Kia stinger, golf GTI, Hyundai 130 N and more
All differences with this model are cosmetic as this car still retains the same turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four-cylinder engine. Its 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque that is in all the current WRX models
With only 150 examples of this car Australia wide this car is a future collectible and modern day classic

still far from the STI, though VB owners like my wife will say how great the FA24 engine is (which it is, one of the best Subaru has made), they forget STI owners don't buy it for straightline power, they buy the STI for handling and track capabilities. STI has front LSD, center active DCCD diff, and rear LSD. VB ain't it, with open front diff and open rear diff with electronic brakepad vectoring straight from the Crosstrek and Forester.

Your right the control you have in a Subaru is zero to none, when you take corners or go in and out in lanes with such ease, it’s the best feeling when you know your in control. Just wish we would get a little more from Subaru in certain models lol 😂

Are the Brembo Brakes the same as the TR brakes from the USA? i.e. are they the 6pot front and 2 pot rears?

I don't see why not mate, assume it would be a bolt on to the current models. It does change the look entirely. However you might need to change the wheels if they don't clear the brakes

Thankfully here in the US we do get the HK sound system - we get what's called the TR which is the club spec sans wing, comes with HK, alcantara, Brembo, etc. Just picked on up yesterday - what a gem

Yeah, nah, no long drive (highway) just yet. Engine is just on 36km now, I got to vary the speed for the first month of driving. The best feeling is driving fast, but it doesn't feel fast, but the speedo says it's fast. You look up into the rear view mirror, first you see that lovely beautiful wing and then you see all the other cars behind you.

Shame no STI. Reusable parts from the generation before and a lack luster, underpowered vehicle. I love subarus but it wouldnt have killed quite arguably the most stubborn automaker to make an STI.

The new FA24 can make 400hp with an intake, bigger intercooler and a tune. In the states they are already getting 600+hp out if the FA24 with stock block and internals.
