Steven Collins (archaeologist) makes a pretty strong case for Tal el Hammam so I'll check this out but there's a bar set high for me. And there's reason to think Wyatt may have been a con artist from first person reports by disaffected colleagues. Interested people can track these angles down if they want.

You should check out archaeologist Joel Kramer's take on the location of Sodom/Gomorrah on his channel Expedition Bible. Compelling as well.

@@fyrerayne8882, agreed! People should check out Joel's video and the locations he is pointing too. We'd like to get Joel involved in this series as well and do some interviews with him on the sites he's advocating for.

@bear7098, so you know, we do plan on doing some videos with people who advocate for Tall el Hammam. Though we've been posting a lot of snippets of our interviews with Deb Hurn, this series is actually about the various theories on Sodom's location. We're wanting to share the different prevailing views and then let our viewers decide which proposed locations/evidence they think best fits the Biblical criteria. Be on the look out for content related to Tall el Hammam soon!

Fascinating stuff.

If it resulted from a chaotic event like an explosion, how do you explain the spherical shape of the sulfur balls? The biblical account describes it as a miracle, much like the events of the Exodus.

Bible says God reigned fire from the sky. Not from underneath the earth.

@fryreayne8882, yes, this is correct! In this episode, we are letting Dr. Hurn share her perspective on the event, not necessarily saying we agree with everything she's stating. We have other episodes in this series with Ross Patterson, who advocates for Ron Wyatt's proposed Sodom location. In those episodes, he shares his stance that this was a purely supernatural event, where God miraculously rained fire and brimstone down out of the sky and didn't use natural means as Dr. Hurn believes. We will share video sneak peeks of these as well. As shared before, we are wanting to cover all of the main theories regarding Sodom and then let our viewers decide which theory they believe has the best evidence and is most aligned with the Biblical account. With that in mind also be on the lookout for other episode sneak peeks in the near future about Tall el-Hammam and Bab edh-Dhra/Numeira.
