When we had our 9 shank, Glencoe Soil Saver, I'd have a transport lock get flipped up every once in a while. Glad to see you able to get some more field work done. Thanks for the video.

Ethan, that's good that you're able to get a little more chisel plowing done. For me it's satisfying seeing the ground get turned over ready for planning for next year or in this case this year. Thanks Michael

A clog of dirt will flip them up partway then when you pick it up at the end of the field, it will flip the rest of the way up and lock. Usually does it more in tacky conditions where dirt is sticking to the wheel assembly. The 13 shank has a locking pin. On our nine shank. I just wrap a piece of wire around it to keep them held down. Some of the nine shanks originally had a chain with a hook that held him down. Good future fabrication video for you👍

Well...some progress is better than none. Surprising that the ground is firm enough to run for the time of the year.

It looked a little spongy in some spots, and some of the ruts I could see were in need of a little more help. It was probably just as well you didn't prep the tractor, lol, this way you had to stop early, lol. I know, you wanted to do more, cause that's how you are, lol. I was the same way when I was younger. You made progress and that is awesome. I love watching the 4-150 doing its thing. I was wondering if it was the same lock every time. Like you said, those aren't all that small too being flipped up. Great video, see you later.

I need to make something to lock them down so they can’t flip.

Removing compaction from the wet fall is a real plus going into spring. With April showers that ground should be mellow come planting time

Will be interesting to see how this season works. I've been talking with several agronomists that are worried about the impacts of the late winter/early spring primary tillage going on this year.

Watching the shank move around is interesting. Are they tripping a bit from frost? Or compaction?
@Oliver66FarmBoy
@Oliver66FarmBoy 7 ай бұрын
That’s how they work. They aren’t meant to stay in one position. Like a vibra shank.

Engage cloaking device! Prepare to engage... Okay, comedy aside... That mechanical diesel sounds rather lovely compared to the new piles theyre puttin in highway trucks nowadays.... Nice to hear a motor sound right and not like its tryin to throw a rod thru the oil pan... Askin a diesel to do things they were never ment to and the emissions is always the problem keeping the mechanic employed rather than the driver in miles.

@@Oliver66FarmBoy the new DEF motors, 2015 and newer, i aint heard one yet that didnt have a tick in the middle head that sounds like a bad valve guide... Last one i had was that new cummins that replaced the ISX.... IS15 or some crap... Thing was horrible. I think it was a 2018 in an International LT... So many exhaust and emissions issues.... Every 2 or 3 weeks i was getting it wrenched on.
