I remember this game; it is one of those fun rentals with nice gameplay that I thought was rather neat.

Yeah true, but there was just something holding it back.

As great as this game is, it's a shame to learn how much stuff was cut in the US version over the Japan version, aka Assault Suits Valken. We are talking... - Character pictures are missing within the missions. - Almost all radio conversations during game play have been removed. - One person and his suicide has been removed entirely from the game. - A secret radio transmission at the end of the game is missing Not much is known from why the changes but if you still haven't played this. Play the game with the 'Assault Suits Valken translation patch', restoring everything removed/censored in the US version + now in English.

There's a secret weapon in this game which you can unlock as follow: - just speed run the first mission, WITHOUT shooting any of the enemies, until you get to the boss - when you reach the 1st mission's boss, DO NOT shoot the turrets, SHOOT ONLY THE MAIN BODY. - starting with mission 2, you get the napalm weapon. - finish the 2nd mission without dying Congratulations, you now have the completely upgraded napalm weapon for the rest of the game and can keep it, even if you lose a life. The napalm weapon is, as mentioned, fully upgraded and one shots every enemy. It's so OP, it kills most bosses with 3-4 well placed shots. But beware, it has 2 drawbacks: - if you fire it constantly, it needs to cool down and recharge. Unlike the laser beam weapon, who recharges super fast, the napalm weapon can can take up to 10 seconds for this cool down, so you need to eventually swap to another weapon, until it recharges. - it fires not straight like the other weapons but similar to a mortar/ grenade launcher, in an arc. If you want to hit enemies that are more far away, you need to adjust it's trajectory. P.S. Pro tip: learn to USE YOUR SHIELD.

@@johnm3907 Neo-Geo, but it was actually a hybrid, 16-bit cpu, 8-bit sound coprocessor, the gpu graphic data bus is 24-bit, there is a game called Raizon, done by NGDEVTEAM, game really showed the absolute brutal strength what a 1991 hardware can do, not only that, the Yamaha sound chip in the Neo Geo, were the same ones used for Taito arcade games, 1987, the music in Raizon offers crystal clear cd quality sound, whopping 1560 megs, biggest N64 game is Resident Evil 2 @ 512 megs. Look up Raizon trailer 720p, should have 2 trailers up. Probably one of most amazing feat I have seen on a console, talk about a game pushing to its utmost limits, actually it's going way beyond the limits. I used to own the Neo Geo, system was way ahead for its time, but Raizon truly shows what exactly this system can do, despite being a 1991 hardware.

Ohhhhh Such an edgy Protagonist "I don't fight for patriotism or justice... I fight because I'm a soldier..." Boy, I've met Vietnam War vets who were edgier, and weren't drafted, but volunteered I've heard stories of enlisted men and women who did the craziest shit with ships, boats, plans, trains, and guns Just because they were bored Imagine if they had mechs.... Neat game though
