I have RX Elements 11, and when I used De-noise in Wavelink it was all fine, but when I added any other plugin, like De-clip, the audio would lag horribly, like almost 1 second latency. I tried with all other rx plugins, and only if I leave "De-noise" it is ok. I ruined a live stream because of this - because I had added De-clip and De-ess before streaming not thinking they would do anything.

From my understanding, you cannot use any microphone as you pleas. You still need a compatible Elgato device to run the software. My brother tried using wave link for his Yeti mic. It only works for him when I plug in my Wave 1 into his PC, which he can then add the yeti as an input. However, the moment I disconnect my Wave 1 from his PC, he can no longer use Wave Link.

This is correct. In order to use wavelink, you must have 1 of 4 wavelink devices. Without 1 of those, no wavelink

@@StreamGearTalkThat is unfortunate. He just loves the functionality of Wave Link. Only viable option for him to use is the stream deck but even then he’d only be buying just for the sake of using his mic.

I believe I mentioned in the video the 4 devices that enable use of wavelink, at which point you can use any mic to take advantage of it. In this case I'd recommend the stream deck plus.

@@AleksTufte @StreamGearTalk I also see the same thing as you, but I am using a Wave XLR. The Elgato noise cancellation has no settings beyond on/off. They should have those settings those based on the changelog for the plugin earlier this year. So we are both experiencing some bug with the software where we cannot see the settings.

For some reason I dont get the option for editing the settings on the noise removal.. I don't eve see the icon. I've updated it and everything, still nothing. Is it because I am using the WaveLink 3?

Na that shouldn't cause that. I'm using the wave 3 now and I have the ability to change those settings in noise removal. Maybe try uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it?

If I understood right, your gain is actually something like 60dB? 35dB in wave link and 25dB with cloud lifter.

Just make sure to add wavelink stream as an audio source in obs and that's it. All you wavelink audio including mic and processing will go to obs and out to your audience!

Why do you use a Cloudlifter when the Wave XLR delivers enough power/gain itself? The SM7B needs around 60 dB, and the Wave XLR provides up to 70 dB. Using a Cloudlifter in this setup only reduces the audio quality and introduces unnecessary noise.

kzbin.info3W_aeNHe7w4?feature=share I agree the cloud lifter is not necessary. I've had this stance for a long time. I disagree, the cloud lifter does not reduce audio quality, it sounds just fine to me. I agree it does sound better without when using vsts/ noise suppression.

​@@StreamGearTalk For the normal consumer, you probably won't hear any difference at all, but if you check how the audio waveforms change, you can see a huge difference. Noise suppression also reduces quality, not as drastically, but it still has an impact. I’ve seen this firsthand through my previous work with Elgato and Shure, as well as from testing with the audio team at Shure. This is where I base my opinion on, alongside my own testing and the insights gained from working with the Shure audio team.

Average person doesn't have the ears that you probably do plus the added audio from games etc masks sole of the noise.

The elgato noise suppressor also cut out off the voice of me when I set it to 1%. However I think it automatically adjusts after you talk for a while and won't do it anymore.

So I already have a wave 3 mic, but I plan on going with iems paired with a 64 audio boom mic iem cable to minimize desk space and get rid of the elgato lp boom arm. I haven’t seen any info on my specific case, but, I already know wavelink works with any mic as long as you have 1 of the 4 wavelink compatible items: wave 1/3, wave xlr, and stream deck plus. But will it work with any mic that isn’t usb/xlr? Because the iem boom mic cable ends in 3.5mm and what I plan to do is keep the wave 3 mic so I can use the wavelink app, and connect my iem cable to my pc to add vsts to the mic since it doesn’t have any noise suppression and for the clip guard options, etc.

I just cant get Nvidia Broadcast to work inside WaveLink its driving me crazy cause the plugin ist causing my audio to crackle like hell

Are you using Elgato's version or nVidia Broadcast? I know that using the download of nVidia Broadcast does not work through Wave XLR and you have to use the Elgato plugin version of nVidia Broadcast and it is really crappy. It is completely un-useable for me so I'm just using the regular Elgato Noise Suppression plugin. It is clean and works very well. I do not understand at all why Elgato's version of nVidia Broadcast is so bad but for me it was introducing so much noise like you described, the hisses and crackling were terrible.

I’ve been experiencing my mic cutting out for a split second or some crackling and just slight noises that shouldn’t be in my audio during videos. Thought it was wave link/my mic effects but it does it with them on and off. I tried using a different usb cable and that wasn’t it either. Even used a different mic and I’m still having the same problem. Do you know how I can fix this and just have clean, crispy, audio 🤦🏽‍♂️

Question, I set up my Shure SM7b with the new XLR dock this past week and I keep getting this static pop sound. I can't seem to figure it out to save my life and with the rodecaster I used previously I never had an issue. Any ideas?

Hey brother i have a quick ? i have the shure mv7 plus and im using the usb side of things into wave link cause i have a streamdeck plus.but i was wondering if i should download the shure motiv app to set up my mic and the use that on the wave link or forget about the motiv app and just do everything on the wavelink

It's honestly a matter of preference. Motic does some nice things but I prefer less apps in use. I'd say try it out both ways and see what you like! And let me know what you go with

do the settings save to the device you are using with wave link? i have my mic connected to wave xlr and configured. but i then connect my wave xlr to my ps5 and i have no idea if the settings carry over

Ok that's an excellent question. Here's what I know. The settings do save to the XLR but I don't know if it carries over to a console. In theory it should. Easy way to test this is to use the noise removal plug in. If it's on and working when connected to PC, then connect to ps5 and you hear all your noise etc then it doesn't transfer. I can test this when I get home.

One device I think should do this is the rode podmic USB. When used via USB you can save all processing to the mic. Now, what I have seen though is that the saved settings don't always work as well on console. There's something odd about how the PS5 communicates with a dsp device.

@@StreamGearTalk funny enough, the mic im using is the maono pd400x which also saves settings via usb but i find it very quiet on the ps5 and when i turn it up theres a lot of background noise. the software is nice but im not sure how well the noise gate/compressor work as when i test it on pc my voice is cut off. i could figure it out by playing around but the wave link works better and is easier to use. the settings do save on the wave xlr, but i just need to figure out if the plugins also save and carry over to another device.

I have the elgato wave 3 and i dint know hoe to set up the filters to let it sound amazing pls help me indont understand which fiters and settings inhave to use and how to set :( can you do a video for the wave 3 pls ? :( For example, whenever I activate the noise reduction filter, my voice sounds like I'm lisping and when I speak, words are often cut off. Even with the video, it's difficult to set up a microphone because every microphone behaves differently. That's too complicated for me. There must be someone who already has an Elgato Wave 3 and can tell me their settings that work really well for them.

i have wasted like 3 hrs trying to get my audio to sound right...i just keep hearing low static in my recording..I just cant figure it our..i have tried like 8 other elgato plugs vt and still the same...the static wont go way or I get an empty room sound. so fustrated waster 3 hours on this.
