Ashlands actually safer than Sonorous Dark. Never camp in Sonorous Dark unless you have walls (I usually camp without any walls just for sole constant fighting😉) or Savant is absent. Otherwise it is pain in the ass

@@EaGilgamesh We have already made more than 20 specialist+ grade swamp gas masks. We now have 171 members, including animals on Day 168. We have 4 crabs and will buy at least 8 more to defend our 5th active outpost in Black Scratch so that we can send more guys to conquer the Ashland. I don't use any mod, except for 256. We will invade and make a settlement in Ashland before we conquer the Southern Hive.

A foothold next to the Ashlands is a good idea Paga, you could build a tower and put some turrets on top, call back your team from your previous settlement and settle there during the expedition. Don't know whether you already researched hydrophonics, with that research you could produce some food inside of the buildings so fertility is not a problem. Good luck!

I think it's better to be careful; have a door you can lock at least. I think you'll get damaged a lot. Make an F.O.B. (forward operating base) to make quick trips out. It's probably a good idea to send out Beep to just see. He's so fast

When I went to the Ashlands I brought building materials and plopped down one of the large 2 story round buildings. Very handy to recover in safety at.

the pits is a good place for base in a late game, all it needs is hydrophonics for food you can put them on the roof to get rain, careful that there is acid rain most of the time and maybe using crab armor for protection of acid might be good idea. Crab armor is the most toughest armor in the game, but also the most penalty status in the game, recommend to use a mix of armors for better balance of protection and stats.

One of my assassins got in and tried to steal some stuff from the armory. Unfortunately, his 100 stealth using assassin rag didn't help because he didn't have high thievery. He was discovered and was KOed by one of the security spiders in one shot. But he managed to wake up and ran away. LOL And you can do hydroponics in Ashland because you can ship water from the Pits to the Ashland.

There's a plateau in Pits East that's a great defensible position. It's on the southern east corner of Pits East. It's got high quality iron and copper right on it. Enough room to build but you need hydroponics to grow food. Otherwise you'd be hunting crabs.

I've notice you are not using one of the most important kenshi mechanics, stealth, you are obviously going to get your ass kicked if you go to the sniper tower running straight forward, beep has a 20% xp boost on stealth, you should traing him a bit, it is fairly easy to level him up to lv 50-60 without too much time, and you literally become invisible, you can run in a straight line and they don't even see you, and that's how you are suppose to deal with this like that, also becomes very useful for scouting dangerous zones.
