Man i used to watch this videos all the time like 8 to 10 years ago when I was always binge playing BF2, still play it from time to time but damn this brings back memories.

I can totally agree with this part but what I dislike the most in the newer battlefield games is the "spotting", you can see red dots and tags all over the place while you kind of needed some decent eyes in bf2 to see some of the guys hidden, But thanks for your opinion sir :)

I think BF3 has increased sniping on all levels. You can now pick a good rifle AND a good scope. You can shoot further than 400 meters consistently. The optics are more true to life, the ballistics are more true to life. The increased detail in the levels makes it easier to use stealth effectively. Overall I would say sniping improved in BFBC2, and then got even better in BF3. I hope they continue this upward trend for BF4.

I agree with Snipe, You've made me a muuuch more efficient sniper after watching all of these, you've really been helpful and it's really great you took the time out of your day to make these for us.

I can't beleive I came across this video again haha, Awesome sniping tutorials you made back then and they are still great for beginners because these rules still count on most decent games! But anyways watching this again reminds me of how great and amazing sniping in bf2 was.. So I have a question for you ryan, Do you like the bf3 sniping more or do you still think like me that bf2 is way way better when it comes to sniping?

first off, greetings all the way from Singapore.. All I wanna say is, you made me a better sniper.. I always loved being sniper class in BF2 from e start. The problem is, I always had a 1:1 kill-to-ratio or even more deaths. But after viewing all ur videos, and with some practise, I am getting unbelievable results! Now i average at at least a 10:1 by being patient, maintaining good concealment (most imprt for me!) and constant relocation! RESPECT MAN! You're t3h 5h1t!

ive watched all ur vids 5 times over tho i ddnt need alot of help when i first started, finding out that the game has bullet drop really helped but yeah, your vids r the best ever any genre, just the clear understandable voice over really puts you up there though i never use anything but the l96a1 or the m95 in servers with vehicles (mainly air vehicles) thanks for the help dude :)

Very informative, I was always woundering how you saw through the scope right after a shot... Also, I realised that the lines on the sides of your scope have a function! Excellent work.

May I add another important tip for snipers: If your going to camp out on top of a mountain, hill or even a small mound, do not sit right on top of it. Your body will be an easy target against the sky or background. Just a few steps down the front of the hill will do it, you will almost perfectly blend to the textures :) P.S. ... 9:19 ... pretty sure he felt that one :p P.S.S ... Parachute shots are the sweetest

Another helpful video from Forhed Stone sharing valuable knowledge. It would be better if you included shots on laterally moving sprinting units. You can't always wait for a target to run out of stamina or change directions. Oh, and a comparison of the rifles' abilities on moving targets would be awesome. Still the coolest shot I've ever seen is on the VI vid where you shot a guy on a boat that's moving laterally. Just amazing.

Note on the ranges, are you sure it was 350 meters? Sharqi is a very small map, even at 64 players. It's about 150-200 meters from the Constructionsite to the TV-station. And that's pretty much on the edge of the fogeffect.

You make very impressive and informative videos, mate. I have a question though. What level of sensitivity do you adjust your mouse and do you change them consistently with range, or do you just stick to one standard and work with it. If you do change them consistently, do you know a quicker way of doing it rather then having to go to the options menu all the time?

n1 very skilled sniper :D i've played bf2 a lot and my fav was sniper and medic... now i'm playing bad company 2, heading towards the sniper unlocks. altough your tutorials are made for bf2, they also apply for bc2. there's just a heavier bullet drop and the bullet velocity is lower. but still the same fun to shoot running ppl's head :D do you play bc2 too?

Not sure, good sniping is a mind set. I made these movies because I noticed a rather low level of skill in the snipers I was killing. I like to think of sniping as playing chess on a checkerboard. Your enemies are moving around in a very simple "single move" way, while you are planning out "complex moves" to flank them. Sniping requires a higher level of skill to be successful.

Who doesn't hate it when your only 50 meters away, compensate for the slight drop on a standing enemy and don't even get a hit, when the target stays completely still the whole time. I have a pretty shitty connection because my network cable plug-in got damaged somehow and now it doesn't work :C
@ryandpahl

That why I only play on HC servers, because I hate that sci-fi stuff as well. I'm not a fan of the scope glare either, specifically how it is ALWAYS visible and has nothing to do with the suns reflection. BUT, its better than the tracer fire from BFBC2 that led you right back to snipers hide, because you have some control over the glare.

Nice video dude a great tutorial for someone reletivly new to the sniper kit (That actully uses the rifle)I've noticed somthing odd, When I aim for stationary targets I always have to end up aiming higher at 200M for example than sombody whos running across the screen and when I aim the same elevation as sombody I would shoot while there running when their stationary I get body shots. Could you explain that? (Yes ive seen some of those in your vids)

You should have done the video two parted, like Part VII - A and Part VII - B or something :) I'm sure people would love to see all the stuff you took away. Or make a special episode with "Deleted Scenes" or "Unseen Material" :D Personally I think that shooting from a chopper is more difficult because of the BF2 code, not because lack of skill. Many shot there you had the guy dead on and even a puff of smoke but it just didn't register the shot.

interesting question, personally if i did not have the L96A1 unlock i would use the M24 for pure accuracy, but only because of the better cross hair. I find that people can completely dissappear behind the .50's fat cross, but sometimes it seems to hit them anyway, i have definately had one shot kills with the .50 that really should not of been :D.
