@15:30 note this is for all of you 2240 custom moderz note the way the power adjuster is hollow so you can adjust the length of the hammer striker , this part was a puzzle for me from just looking at the blueprint, Thank you for this video OP , it's very helpful

howdy neighbor.dont know how you remember how to put it back together.normaly when i take stuff apart it stays that way.but good stuff you have once again proved i am never to old to learn.

Jeffrey, when you've had these Crosman/Benjamin guns apart as many times as I have, it's relatively easy and repetitive between similar guns. The Marauder rifle, Pistol,1720T, and 1701 Silhouette, are basically all the same, mechanically. I could've taken that entire gun apart in about 5 minutes, and back together in another 5. I slowed down a bit to explain stuff and to show the disassembly process on camera. Don't worry, I won't forget how it goes back together!!!

The second part of this video, the reassembly will be posted soon. Parts took a long time to arrive, due to the virus. Stay tuned

I took out the spring that allows the trigger some flex when its uncocked. I am just under a pound for my trigger.

Dutch, I'm just going to clean it, the trigger is pretty sweet as it stands.....the luck that I have, if I touch anything, something bad will happen to it, and I won't get it back

@@sniperxbow60 Not rocket science. I watched a cowboy movie while drinking some beer and fine tuning so it was as light as can be, I buffed and polished the sear surfaces to shiny, lightly coated them with moly, and tuned it in from touching the side of trigger for a discharge to a very light trigger pull for a discharge. Easy peasy to do if you have the blueprints to follow. Also the trigger stop was fun to mess with too.

Can’t you just adjust the hammer spring and hammer throw length from the rear of the gun through the hole below the bolt?

How about putting the pistol in a vice or padded rest while working on it? Makes it a lot easier.
@sniperxbow602 жыл бұрын
Barny, yes it would, but I only have a small space to work with, and have not a lot of room for that luxury. When I move, and get my workbench in order, I'll definitely have one. Happy shooting!!

When you take the valve off the front of the airtube, I noticed that you took off and replaced the black crosman thread tape. Is there anything special to do when you take that off? I need to replace mine with yellow gas tape to rule out a slow leak. My last effort will be to replace the gauge. I replaced all of the orings. I have re taped the gauge. Still have the leak so I wanna try changing the tape on the fill port. Is there anything special to do when doing this?

Dutch, I use plain white Teflon tape, and a lot of it. Sometimes it will still leak, and might take 2-3 tries. No special trick, just a hit or miss thing. Some guys use a Permatex thread sealant instead (kind of what Crosman uses), but I find it too messy.

What would be the max distance for this air gun in sub 12ft.
@sniperxbow603 жыл бұрын
If kept at just under 12ftlb, I've hit targets to 100 yards with the same accuracy as a rifle with the same power, for target purposes. To dispatch small pests, up to 55 yards would be possible with proper shot placement
@airgunsofidaho48863 жыл бұрын
@@sniperxbow60 55 yards. That's pretty good. I been looking into the 1720t. now for a few years. Maybe in the future I'll get one. A 1720t bullpup would be nice.

With some minor modifications, a 1720T with a Marauder or Challenger trigger swapped out for the original, you can put it in a Challenger stock with small modifications

@@sniperxbow60 i just seen a video. where someone had a 1720 on a crosman Challenger stock. I might be testing your slugs this weekend. I'll share my results with you.

I've found that the 1720T shoots a variety of my slugs well, within 35 yards, which is maximum Field Target distance. I used the 15 grain flat base at the Carolina Classic in 2020, and took top spot in Limited Pistol class. I'll be competing again in 3 weeks at this year's Carolina Classic, and I'll be using the same.
