When you are doing a sniper squad, make sure to not skyline ie not go directly on top of the mountain. People think it's the best advantage, but if you go down a little bit they will have a harder time finding you

Another one I see often is: When you want to shoot out of portholes, ie. windows, doors, gaps, be sure to sit back in the shadows. Don't poke your rifle through the window, I guarantee you will stay alive much longer.

The best firing positions are when you've got bushes hiding your muzzle flash from everywhere but the target. Being 20m deep into the treeline limits your field of view, but makes it 10x harder for the enemy to spot you without the muzzle flash

@@ThunderBatRED That is a little difficult to do unless you've got a good team feeding you enemy movements. I prefer a compromise between your approach and the run-and-gun approach where you find a decent place to perch up but you plan to move after a few shots.

I took the Barret on Narva last weekend, Russian team on invasion, so during staging I get on the tallest building at our second cap (shipping yard). When the round started I could see them in main and just watched until they were engaged by our armour. 600 meters and in I missed only 3 times. Highlight was when I dumped a mag into a btr or brdm that just wouldn't die, popping smoke, trying to flee, and I ammo racked it. Was hitting 600 meter shots from the roof before they sent 6 of their guys up the 12 stories to the roof. I and this one dude up there with an Sr 25 were a menace, was what convinced me modded squad is the best way to play the game.

that camo net system he deployed is called a Snipers Nest. You would employ that and some IPK, you would then Dig in and make yourself an Aperture for the Barrel and the sight, and then fill the rest with Natural Cam to further blend it in. The sight Aperture would be the Size of a Pin-dot to remove any chance of Sight glint. the longest i spent in a Nest was 18 hours straight.

It’s probably just a personal preference thing, but when Slorgs held T to open radial menu and then mark. I almost died. I vomited all over myself, got a splitting headache, and peed rat poison. Binding a single mark to middle mouse is a must.

you had what looked like APIT rounds for the M82A1. Which means they gave you ammunition for hunting and countering vehicles. The Barret can be used as a precision rifle, but it is not its primary focus, it's meant for denying cover and disabling vehicles. I've used the mod that weapon comes from, it does indeed take people out through one or two shots to the window of most MRAP-type vehicles, it will do good engine damage to logi's

Just because the Barrett is MEANT for vehicles doesn’t mean it HAS to be used only on vehicles. Besides, a Barrett is very similar to a hammer in the sense of every problem starts to look like a target.

@@decimation9780 Dude, I'm just stating its original purpose. It's not a precision weapon, which they have .50 cal dedicated to be a precision weapon. Realistically they would be used a stationary weapon for LP/OP or disassembled and then assembled on their location of need. Remember this weapon is clunky. It's designed to be fired in a decent rhythm and has been made robust to facilitate semi-auto fire. It's largely impractical as a precision weapon. It is what it is dude.

Sniper is a role in so many shooters that is rarely played properly. It’s not just to pick off as many enemies as you can, it’s relaying important information on positions, emplacements, FOB’s, infantry, armor, etc. While it is difficult to do, especially in SQUAD, this doesn’t mean it’s impossible. It requires a lot of map knowledge.

I don’t know much about squad the game but you could make it work with an infantry squad. Model it after a weapons squad, just have the other squad mates play as local security and a sbf if necessary for the larger force

Likely because it's some of the least engaging stuff to go against, one of the reasons people are so fast to kick snipers in regular games is just that, getting one-tapped from 300 meters away by a bush sucks and they'd rather not have the other players suffer it. At least with an lmg guy i get suppressed and can at least try to engage before my head pops..

Use him as a forward observer.. had some crazy games with snipers used as observers and to hold points. Sniper and mger nearby keep people down and take out habs and drain their tickets

I love the sniper class, but it is a really first come first serve kind of deal. I wish I can just play sniper in a normal squad because the kit is quite nice, but I understand that not every squad in real life is equipped with a m82 barrett 50cal sniper.

One love hate relationship with Squad is the lack of ability to ever get to use the Marksman kit unless it's a bad one nobody wants. Then there is Arma 3 where EVERYONE has a sniper and it's boring. If we could just find a good balance like this mod + just a few more available kits it would be a dream come true.

This is an improvement, but they could do more. There's no wind effects. There's also no bullet trace. A spotter in the right position should be able to see the bullet wake to help make accurate corrections.

Lower your DPI on your mouse or just game sens. I play on 600 DPI and .50 in game sens but some find that too low. Just depends on how much you want to pickup and move your mouse and your play area for said mouse. Also x6 also applies to most sniper scopes, same as the bino sens. Weird that they dont have it separate but make sure you turn it down when you snipe if you turned up the sens for binos.

Prioritize clarity in scope, it's a check box in the graphics settings, I think default is set to prioritize AA which looks like literal dog shit and I have no idea why it's even an option in the game
