Hendrys cue tips, break from life and your good self are for me the best snooker channels on you tube.

As entertaining a channel it is, Break From Life is one I don't get many hints from. Barton Snooker is the best tutorial/coaching one, as I don't think Hendry has quite got his presentation right yet, and assumes the viewer knows a lot more than the information he gives out. However, his other content is very good and the interviews are uncensored which I enjoy.

Break from life is a bit hit and miss I think, mostly for entertainment and a bit short on actual tips.

I’ve come back to snooker after a long time away,the best thing Barton snooker has taught me is looking at the potting angle whilst standing up before getting down on the shot,I went from 20ish breaks to the best so far 48 and it was an instant improvement.

Thanks for this video Steve. After watching your videos and practicing with some of your routines I am gradually improving. My potting has improved and my breaks still a bit small yet but are more consistent, these type of videos are brilliant. Thanks again. Chris

This is how I've aimed my whole life (41) and recently just FINALLY sorted my cueing routine/action.. potting long balls more consistently than I ever have! Always loved your channel but am here now for additional tips to improve, just hunting for the right video that suits the bill. It feels like I have a large break in me ready to be achieved. Keel up the good work

Please do more with this ghost cue ball with longer videos , from this perspective, its much easier for me personally to learn as this kind of view was very helpful ! At least i can imagine the right way to where the cue ball should be at , thanks ! Subs from Malaysia ❤️

Nice video. I also enjoy the simple ghost ball technique that Steve Davis always recommended. Strangely though Hendry talks about an exact point of aim on the object ball which conflicts.
@BartonSnooker
@BartonSnooker Жыл бұрын
Cheers. Yeah the exact point thing doesn't really work as I have explained in other videos. Players do look at the line to pocket as Hendry shows, but that's really just building up your 3D model of the table. I think as Hendry admits, he's so natural with a lot of how he plays and thinks about the game, that it's hard to relate to other people that aren't at that level yet.
@sj460162
@sj460162 Жыл бұрын
@@BartonSnooker Yeah I get that. I relate more to your coaching and others like yourself because when youre as natural and gifted as Hendry or Ronnie it isnt easy to transfer that to others like you say. My mate Luke Simmonds who has played Ronnie before has told me he doesnt analyse what he does. He said its like trying to think about walking, you end up tripping up...but thats easy for him to say with all his natural ability!

Great videos! One problem is that the gopro distorts the view so that the ghost balls seem slightly off to me. Other than that I get a lot out of your videos, thank you for making them.

Great explanation. Thanks. How do we pot balls when playing across the table? I mean cue ball on brown spot and red ball 2 or 3 inches from side cushion in line with pink spot. I seem to observe top players using lot of side spin to bring cue ball back to baulk area. Please do a video on these type of shots. Thanks.

Would like some safety hints/routines. I appreciate that it's not everyone cup of tea, but it can be just as important as potting a ball. And I am still going to book a session with you...just ironing out the finances 👍

Quick question why do balls to the centre "seem a bit fuller than they are". I have noticed this also.
@BartonSnooker
@BartonSnooker Жыл бұрын
It's just a perception thing. It's very common to think we need to 'cut' balls more than we actually do. That's why staying with the shot and not moving, EVEN IF you don't make the shot, is very important to fast track your learning. The brain will make the necessary corrections in the background without you even thinking about it.

How come you never missed a ball in so many years and so many hours of video? The image we create behind a lens, we've got to be able to live up to it off the camera. Cheers.

I'm just doing a training video. If I uploaded the one where I miss, what use would that be? I'm showing the viewer what shots to play and what to learn. The other problem is, I can recover from lots of different positions, but the viewer of the video cannot. So I show the best shots to learn to improve your game. Of course I miss, all the time. I am human. But I provide educational content for you to learn and improve your game.
