Snow Canyon State Park is a 7,400-acre state park located in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve not too far from the town of St George in Utah. The stunning landscape is made up of sandstone cliffs, lava flows, sand dunes, petrified dunes, and slot canyons.
Jenny's Canyon is an easy half mile hike; perfect for the little ones in your group. And even if you don't have the kids with you, the slot canyon is definitely worth checking out and the views from this trail are pretty spectacular.

The park boasts more than 38 miles of hiking trails that range from a half mile up to 8 miles and vary in level of difficulty.
Approximately 1.4 million years ago and as recent is 27,000 years ago nearby cinder cones erupted causing lava to flow down these canyons creating the spectacular landscapes we see today. Wander through lava fields and explore fascinating caves.
For another easy hike head to Pioneer Names where you'll find pioneer names written in axle grease dating back to 1881. There are so many kid friendly hikes in Snow Canyon including the easy half-mile hike to the large expanse of red sand at the Sand Dunes.
You can access panoramic views over Snow Canyon by visiting the Scenic Overlook off of State Road 18 just above the park.
While Zion National Park may get more attention, Snow Canyon is located just 60 miles away and should definitely be added to your Utah itinerary!
