Also the only reason that tradition/superstition exists is because of arranged marriages. They were afraid that if the bride and groom saw each other before the wedding, they would back out. So, it's not actually bad luck for the bride and groom, it's bad luck for the parents.

There’s very few moments in a girls life that she can have that experience/stress of finding an important dress. Although it seems sweet to have a wedding dress passed down, you believe you only get married once. Honestly.... I probably would've worn the dress anyway. The black feathers actually looked really pretty to me. It's not traditional by any means, but Hook and Emma aren't the most traditional to begin with. And it could've been kind of symbolic that Darkness and Evil will not succeed at ruining Light, Good, and Happiness. Taking something dark, touched by her magic only to cause pain, and tie it to something joyful.
