it's not folk song this is a poem from great poet/writter Kuvempu describing beauty of Karnataka to a person who born in Karnataka about how he should be proud of his land, culture, river, customs and telling him to say where ever you live however you live be a kannadiga( means don't forget the valve of this land and be humble to everyone) Basically introducing Karnataka and kannada to a kannadiga who don't know anything about his culture and his land. KARU ಎಂದರೆ ಹಸು, ನಾಡು ಸ್ಥಳ, ನಗರ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ವ್ಯುತ್ಪತ್ತಿ KARU ನಿಂದ KAAR ನಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದೆ !! ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟ ದೇಶ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಾನವ ನಾಗರೀಕತೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ (ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬಳಕೆಯು ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸೋಣ) ಹನುಮಾನ್ ದೇವರ ಜನ್ಮಸ್ಥಳವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿದೆ (ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ, ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ) ಅಂಜನಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯದವರೆಗೆ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಾ ತಂಗಿದ್ದ ish ಷಿಮುಖ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ! ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥದ ಮುಖ ಎಂಬ ಪದವು ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೇರುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ! ಈಗ ಯಾವ ಭಾಷೆ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯು ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾದ ಕೆಲಸ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಮುಗಿಯದ ಕಾರಣ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಳು ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬ ಭರವಸೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವಂತೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ದ್ರಾವಿಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ವರ್ಗೀಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ! ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಗೋದಾವರಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸುವ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊಟೊ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುವ ಸಮಯವಿತ್ತು. ತಮಿಳಿನ ಕನ್ನಡವು ಮೂಲ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಂಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕ್ರಿ.ಪೂ 4 ನೇ ಸಹಸ್ರಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಿ.ಪೂ 3 ನೇ ಸಹಸ್ರಮಾನದ ಆಸುಪಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಶಾಖೆಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಭಜನೆಯಾಗಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸ್ಪೋಕನ್ ಲ್ಯಾಂಗ್ವೇಜ್ ಆಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮೂಲ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಮೂಲದಿಂದ ತಮಿಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ಬೇರ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈಗ ಲಿಖಿತ ಶಾಸನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕನ್ನಡವು 300BCE ಯ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಗಿರಿ ಶಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಅಶೋಕನು ಬೆಳೆದ ಈ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಗಿರಿ ಶಾಸನವು ಕನ್ನಡ ಪದ ಐಸಿಲಾವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಗಿರಿ ಶಾಸನದ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ತಾಣವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ, ಇಂದಿನ ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಇಶಿಲಾ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರದೇಶವಿತ್ತು. ಇದು ಗೌತಮ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ age ಷಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಈಗ ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜದಿಂದ ಬಹಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. 300BCE ಯ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಈ ದಾಖಲೆಯು ಇಶಿಲಾ ಪ್ರದೇಶವು ಬಹಳ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಲಿಖಿತ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪದ oral ರಲ್ಲಿ (ನಗರ) ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂಡ್ರಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. 36 ಕೆ ಪಾಮ್ ಬರಹಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ಉಳಿದ ಪದಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯಬಹುದಾದ ಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಅವರು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದರು. (ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ) .ಪೂ.ಸಿ 5 ರಿಂದ 4 ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ನಾಟಕಕಾರರು ಕನ್ನಡ ದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಇದು ಬೇರೆಡೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗ್ರೀಕರ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನಿಕಟ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಈಗ ತಮಿಳಿನ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಲಿಖಿತ ಶಾಸನವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ಹಳೆಯ ತಮಿಳು ಕ್ರಿ.ಪೂ 2 ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಡಿಕೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಗುಹೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳು ಎರಡರ ಲಿಖಿತ ಪದಗಳು (ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತವೆ) 3 ನೇ ಬಿ.ಸಿ.ಇ. ಈಗ ಇದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಮಿಳು ಪ್ರೋಟೋ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಬಹುದು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳಿನ ಉತ್ತಮ ಲಿಖಿತ ರೂಪವು ಕ್ರಿ.ಪೂ 3 ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕ್ರಿ.ಪೂ 5 ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರೀಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಲಿಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ತಮಿಳಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮುವಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅನಿಗುಂಡೆಂಡಾ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ (ಕಿಷ್ಕಿಂದಾ ಪ್ರದೇಶ) ಕಂಡುಬರುವ 10-20 ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಳೆಯದಾದ ಗುಹೆ ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಮಾನವ ಕುರುಹುಗಳ ಏರಿಕೆ ನೋಡಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರಿಕತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬರು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು, ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಿಗೆ (ಪ್ರೊಟೊ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಭಾಷೆಯ) ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಕನ್ನಡವು ಪ್ರೋಟೊ ಡ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಿಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮೊದಲನೆಯದು.

Namma kannada namma heme...whenever it may be created or spoken,we would always be connected to it and would pass it on through our songs and poem to nxt generation.....love from mangalore❤️

Kannada is older than so many languages, and has Guinness World Record for being 2500 yr old speaking language. And Kannada among so many languages in India has got the 2nd highest number of Jnanpeet awards which is a highest literary Awards for any langg in India. Kannada during Kannada based dynasties was modified from Halegannada/old Kannada to new Kannada which is you heard or presently using...! Reason for this song is Kannada is home for so many migrants especially in the city Bengaluru, so other state different language people live here. And that's when Kannada started erasing in public, some educated kannadigas using English in the city. So gather Kannadigas and to show the importance of our own language this song is made..!

Hi Madam, Nice reaction 👍 loved it. Sorry for late reaction. Our language *KANNADA* it's so beautiful and a complete language❤️, which is almost 2500 years old or more. It is there on our motherland(INDIA) for so many ages which was well protected and utilized from our great kings, queens, poets and our ancestors etc till now and we are proud of it. Kannada is not just a language it's an emotion and true feeling. Nowadays, as regional languages are vanishing and not being spoken or respected.
