It was a surprise-surprise, that I shouldn't rotate only my hips and below. Instead I have to rotate abso-hecking-lutele everything except my shoulders, arms and head. And the rest about boardslides you just explained perfectly!

Going into this season at 59 years "young" and consider myself a fairly advanced rider. It's actually a bit discouraging to watch how easy you make boxes/rails look. I've been wrecked several times trying to learn and the recovery is a whole lot longer for me. One of the biggest challenges for me is how some features will be "sticky" to the point of throwing me over the bars and some will be insanely slick..... I'm always working to progress so we'll see how this season goes. Thanks for the video and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏂 Randy

We always go and make sure the rails are sliding before going sideways, because a sticky rail will mess up even the best riders! So maybe add a few more 5050s before moving to the board slide. Other things change the slick levels of rails as well and different metals play a factor what makes it challenging. Thank you for the support. Keep shredding and we hope you make great progress this season🙌🏻

always 5050 a rail first to test how sticky it is before boardsliding!

From experience I can tell that Taevis forgot one crucial piece of advice when learning boardslides: get a tailbone protector such as Azzpads :D

These feel wildly different between boxes and tubes. I was super confident doing these on flat boxes without having to urban on. Tried these on a tube after and... I'm still trying.

It takes a lot more confidence you have to be sure of those body movements! But the good thing is, the snows nearly here, come join ADDICTION+ and record a clip, upload it to Video Analysis and we'll let you know where to improve! www.addictionplus.tv 🚀

Do you feel comfortable balancing boardslides over either foot? What you say about stacking the boardslide over the front foot makes sense, but for whatever reason my more comfortable foot to balance on is my back foot. This is fine when going straight onto a box for example, but makes urban on rails scary because it feels like I want to bring my board almost fully across. Should I embrace this, or try to get comfortable balancing on my front foot?

Most people have a preference on there front foot or back foot. The back foot is much more challenging since you need to transfer all the way over the rail. We normally only go on the back foot for back board same ways. I have 2 recommendations. Do back boards to switch embracing the blunt. Or do switch back boards since those use your back foot. I’d say focus on getting a normal back board because you will need it, and then it’s just a nice added bonus that if you get to your back foot you feel comfortable.

i have a irrational fear of catching my front edge on the rail, never had it happen but saw a vid once and it’s totally gotten in my head, is that something i should really worry about or is it pretty rare. i’ve heard some say to de tune my edges but idk if i want to do that.

Get the movements dialed on boxes and you'll feel a lot more confident about it!

@@SnowboardAddiction what do you think about detuning the edges? Does is make a big difference for rails and the risk of catching your edge on it?
