Johnathan, I just wanted to let you know I recently committed to something big and kind of scary for my standards. I'm going to be leaving New Jersey this season to work as a lifty in Jackson Hole. Everyone around me thinks I'm crazy: reminding me there's no one out there, it's wildly expensive, it's only a seasonal job so I'm busted after it ends, it's cold and windy, and I just tell them I have to do this. I might even end up losing money all in all. But I have this crazy dream that I can make it in this industry somehow and I will stop at nothing to do so.

Sounds like you know you’re making the right choice! Head all the same things 15 years ago and now I have a dream life. People won’t understand your dream because it’s not their dream. You know what you want, you know it will be very hard, and you’re excited! That’s all you need 🙌🏼 Nothing in life worth having is easy, and don’t get me wrong living in the mountains is hard. But if you work hard it becomes an easy life! Best part about a seasonal job is the next opportunity is right around the corner! You have nothing to fear, worst case move back to NJ. Best case scenario all your dreams come true! Send it Evan, I believe in you! If I can figure it out, anyone can 💪🏼

I worked as a lift operator at Snow King Mtn in Jackson Hole back in 2007 and ended up staying for another season cause I loved it so much. I'm from Massachusetts and grew up skiing/boarding mountains in New England so it took a little getting used to lol. Make sure you take advantage of the back country
