Landed my first FS 180 at Mt Baker, WA thanks to the progression in this video. Using the side wall first to practice the spin without having to land switch was brilliant! Now I can 180 and ride away switch no problem. Only fell once in the process. Thanks, Kevin! Keep these videos coming!

Than you for this video. I've been snowboarding since I was 10 (23 now), and have spent most of my time in the terrianpark. Because of this video I can now do spins off of jumps, when before I could only spin on boxes and rains, and could do just about anything on boxes and rails for that matter. I struggled for many years to get that rotation off of jumps, but no longer from this last season and thanks to this video. Thank you again.

For front 180s you want to come off the jump at a slight carve, and you don't want to start your spin instantly. Twist your arms slightly coming up to the end of the lip and twist your upper body to about 90° before you twist your legs, and most of all you don't want to spin too much because it's just a 180 and if you try to spin too fast you'll flop around everywhere and fall. When you try your front 3 for the first time you want to come at a carve and make sure to not prespin too hard, remember your motion wants to be in the air. Coming up you want to twist your body for the build up of momentum and when you leave the lip you want to twist it to the direction of your 3 and turn your head. Try to stay even over your bird and keep your legs in the spin. Your body will just do the 3 from the momentum. Once you do it a few times try to add a grab because it will keep you balanced in air.

@eM_Pee7 жыл бұрын
It's probably in your take off, you are probably pulling one leg more than the other. You are doing something more like an ollie or nollie, try to even the force, also it depends on the jump, if it's a kicker or if you go too slow and then you put too much force in the pop, so you make your self out of balance

Hey Kevin. What do you fix your eyes on when doing backside 180? With frontside, it's natural to me to just keep looking forward, which works well. But I realized that I'm staring at my toes when trying to jump backside 180, which probably affects my perception of direction and causes me to land badly. I hope I got the sides right...
@j.s.60807 жыл бұрын
Ats Nisov Look back and slightly down towards the take off while you spin and then spot the ground right next to your new (after the 180) back foot and land. Then, when you have absorbed the 'afterbang' you can look forward again.

Hey! Love your videos but had a question: Can men get female boards? I am a shorter guy ( 5'2" ), small feet, and am heavier compared to the average person my height (64kg ). The Mens boards are all too large for me, and the junior boards seem to have a lot lower of a weight, and was told are cheaper? Ladies boards seemed to fit my needs! (Also got female boots and bindings, don't fit into men! )

ollies throw your weight forward or backward (nollie or ollie) on the takeoff, and put you off axis in the air. If you can do it right it looks steezy af, more like a 360 single cork, but I find it much harder.
