If you're watching this and wondering how to play it do not hesitate to become a member his lesson video for this is amazingly helpful it's not just a note by note instruction he actually walks through the options. I've only been playing a month but just in the first five minutes of watching this video stuff is clicking like it hasn't before. I swear I'm not a shill 😂

I'm 54 years old and bought a Banjo 5 weeks ago as I've always wanted to try and learn to play, I initially was learning to play Earl Scruggs style until I watched this video. I've now switched to clawhammer because you play this so beautifully & I'd love to get to this stage in the future. I'm going to subscribe to your online learning shortly but I'm in the UK and I'm unsure if I can. Thank You for this video.

I first saw this video a few years ago when I first started learning clawhammer banjo. Since then I have tried and given up repeatedly to learn your version, revisiting it every year or so to give it another shot. Im finally to the point where I can finally play through it, albeit a very rough rendition of the song. Hopefully in a couple more years I'll be able to play it as well as you. Thank you for the continued inspiration!

Clawhammer banjo looks like brazilian viola caipira (10 strings country acoustic guitar) old school playing. There's a famous brazilian musician, Almir Sater, that plays the viola caipira almost like that. But, instead of "hummer" the strings with the back of the nail, he pull out them with the nails and fingers. I'm gonna put the Almir Sater link here, so you can compare.kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6DEgX6OmbRgpbM

Awesome playing man!! Superb.. Just one question. Apart from the regular clawhammer with double thumbing, do you ever pluck the string with the index finger on its way up after the initial down-pluck? Or is it the hammer ons and pull offs that I hear that way? This playing is so fast I keep wondering whether there is a component like that..?
