On a visual side it's one of the most detailed engines about, the division is truly spectacular, the details from snow to the way leaflets blow gently to the over the top sun and snow 😏

Curious as to why in "Warlords of New York" there is no snow. Snow is one of the things what gave Div1 a fantastic atmosphere, does the engine have problems rendering snow in Div2 or maybe the users equipment might not be good enough?

tbh, i see no point in showing a game engine that is not available for everyone to download. Unreal do this, because their engine was and will always be available to download. but that's just me anyways

Not only are you inviting potential studios to license your engine, but you are also showcasing the technology behind the game in development (a terribly engineered Game engine could have lots of implications ...), and it kinda also helps as a "trailer" introduction to the in-house editor for new employees or ones seeking to be employed in Massive ! Unreal showcases their engine, not just because it is available for download by anyone, (their "We succeed when you succeed" model) But because they wanted to market their engine to AAA and "III" studios who can acquire licenses for it... also @Ahmed Games , It mightn't be ... after all, they have to make $$$ from their engine, so licensing is extremely important ! In addition to developer documentation and support, and a Developer-friendly code-base ! As it is unlikely that they'll release the source code (don't even dream of open source) because of them not being able to supply the SDKs for the 3rd party libraries and technologies used (The game ships with Release builds of those technologies which is usually permitted in the license if the technology is used in the end product (unlike Live++ and some substance libs ... etc)) Although CryEngine managed to escape all of that with Substance SDK, FMod SDK.... etc.

Look at EA with their Frostbite engine. Only DICE knows how to use it easily. EA let Bioware use it and they messed it up with Anthem. Game is visually impressive but it didn't run correctly.

Just like an engine in a car can work on very different car models, an engine in a game can work with very different games. Here are games using the Snowdrop engine: Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and South Park: The Fractured but Whole.

I dont Understand why Ghost Recon BreakPoint or Assassin's Creed Valhalla don't use Snowdrop Engine and still use AnvilNext ? Why Ubisoft still split those developpement ressources in multiple Engine when one of them is clearly far better and could still be better do like EA did on Engine for all game.

Some game engines might restrict developers from implementing those "cool" things that people want / dream at. It's not uncommon; the lighting, physics in the game engines (as they are now) are no where near perfect / real-world-like.

why do I feel that The Division 2 looks worse than part one? I can only rate this on the alpha gameplay videos of Part Two, but ... The textures look very low resolution, some of the shadows are missing completely and reflections look like 10 years ago. what happened to it? This Engine can so much more. Now we gamers have graphic power on mass with an an 2080ti and effects like DSLL, Raytraycing, HBOA+ and many more. Please make a quality over “ultra” on division 2. The Game Series is a Dream. Now give us the Dream Graphics that we see on 2013
