I think they made a change to the gearboxes, I’ve found with the Twinsteer that when it’s loaded and on any incline it won’t start moving from a dead stop. If I flip in low range it starts to move no problem, low-high won’t let it move either if I stick the Offroad box in. I think they’re trying to make it more realistic that low range delivers more torque to the wheels but it’s still working off a flawed model. Also, I think in general that they have increased top speed on trucks, or maybe I’ve just been so used to trolling maps with super snow and mud.

The highrange is way more punchier than any other gear after this update. They screwed up something with the other gears which I don't like.

Nice review dude, I agree for an in-game truck, it's pretty useful. Talking about 10x10's, there's a new mod called the Azov 7330 that appears to have the chassis from Bruce, and the cab from John, with the new logging add on. Might just be my new favorite mod.

I restarted the whole game finally finding this truck in WI, thats how much I appreciate it. Crane+tipper+trailer makes it one of the most versatile truck there is. Just keep a rescue/refuel vehicle near by as it does like to drink gas and tip over

I blatantly overlooked this truck until this video. Crane + 3x cargo sidebed + trailers! Modded it to have Always ON AWD/Diff Lock, got rid of that 1st/2nd gear acceleration delay, and now it's perfect. Thank you for these videos. Your little details and obligatory "That's what she said" never fail to entertain! Cheers!

In my opinion this is really the best truck suited for logging. At first the first gear thing turned me off but after using it a while I really like it. :) it just eats fuel lol but then again I’m using the fine tuned gear box which has the worst fuel economy.

Very cool vid! I actually just pulled it and the WS twinsteer out last night as a "last resort" option to help my P512 and Tayga to do the Paper factory sections ... So glad i did, as they are a big help with all the loads.

I didn't hear you mention it in the video, but one thing that really seems to help the Paystar is that like a few mod trucks I've seen the axles don't clip, if you drive over a stump/rock/etc. it will just go straight through them rather than catching. On the whole I agree with you though, it's a pretty solid truck which is held back from being great by a lack of power in low range and first gear auto. You appear to have missed one of the trucks party tricks. You can have the repair body add-on and a saddle low at the same time.

One of the most enjoyable trucks to drive, soft suspension that doesnt throw you around and better then expected turning radius. Great interior as well

Hi, Mr. Lonewolf! Do you think you could make a revision on your DAN review? If I remember correctly it was among the first vehicles you reveiwed, and your "methodology" changed since then. The thing is, I feel the DAN is an overlooked vehicle. Whatever mission I'm on, the DAN never fails me. The chassis can twist greatly which can provide plenty of traction on difficult terrain. It is very hard to flip, it almost never happens to me. It has most of the addons/trailers available. Long story short, it's a versatile amd reliable truck, which easily outclasses many others, yet O hardly find anyone using it. So, maybe after you finished your new truck reviews, you could redo the old DAN review, if you feel like it. I for one would certainly appreciate it.

The dan is good but the above 73210 smokes it itcan actually do the crane sideboard trailer set up also and that rear steer is the deal breaker on those 2

9 months later and 1st gear in auto is still jacked up. You definitely called it. They actually did hinder this truck as much as most. Needs the blue small crane weight off the very top of the cab & 1st gear auto improved & it could be a actually very good truck

Yea i hear that. Cat 770 steering hasn't worked ever...still dont. mentioned it during testing... Still counter steers today.

Tiny gas tank, tiny wheels, cumbersome in tight spaces, the Russian developers refuse to make a good all around non-Russian truck. Specialized and scouts may be ok, medium do it all trucks all have handicaps compared to Tayga Vorons and Azovs. That is why I am using the moded Tatras as my basic trucks.

I've been using this truck a lot in the Wisconsin map. Top engine, lifted suspension, top winch, the works. I wasn't a huge fan of it when I first got it, but lately, it's been one of my main workhorses. Definitely a bit of a gas hog, but great otherwise.

Now how did this happen? I won't say it, tho. I noticed it leans towards the fuel tank. Could it be that's part of the weight disparity? This thing will be good with a little bit of modding. Yeah, I think your right about the weight up high. A little bigger and wider tires would help. A touch more balls, too.

I tried that truck for about 3 hrs. It's neat and I really tried to love it, but there were too many things I didn't like about it to keep it.

@@crvnmrhd the short wheel base, huge tires and flexible axle makes it a good truck, she seems to be one of the better mods, she's good for hauling logs and deep river crossings

@@throbbinhood7867 The biggest problem with this truck is that the AWD is very weak. Any obstacle at all stops that wheel dead. Then the other tries to drive around it which steer you in another direction before the rear end pushes you over it. It's tiring to drive because you have to negotiate every single piece of terrain like an obstacle course. It also flexes too much. Without the full weight of the truck to help you, any obstruction only has to affect one wheel, with the result being it tips over way too easily. The final straw was when I was almost half way across the map to my objective, a small bump on a slope the Zikz would have barely noticed flipped me right over into the lake with the oversized cargo. The AWD problem forces you to drive around in low with the diffs on just so it will climb over any small item on the trail, which is slow as balls. Make it full time diffs/awd and it would be much better. Then limit the flex to about half so it brings the full weight of the truck into play earlier and keep it from flipping. Like I said, I drove it for 3 hrs trying to make it work because I really like it and wanted it to work, but I got tired of rescuing it or recovering.

its very good just the only good thing over Bruce is the high range other than that i think Bruce is still better its got not the highest fuel capacity and very high consumption so i think they nerfed it in fuel high range is a must have if you want the full potential

Since it is diff-lock switchable, even when only 1-2 wheels are spinning it doesn't count it as engine stalling for some reason. I don't know why the auto gears are "monday" and high gear is "friday". I don't know what is up with highrange being so much more punchier. 6:22 and I thought the apache horn sucked. 11:22 There's snowrunner physics for ya lol. Those crates were trying to fly like the lo4f but they forgot one thing, crates and lo4f aren't the same thing whatsoever. Imagine a hightune gearbox😉..... If u wanna know why frog got banned for little petty reasons watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpvNZ3yYeM9geNE They definitely tweaked the water physics because the lo4f went through a super deep river in wisconsin in high no problem at all that was about 1.5 times lo4f size in depth. This thing motored through the the water in yukon and in north port so yeah they have definitely tweaked the physics of water.

The new trucks are ok sub par at best but thats what this sorry game does it gives u what should be awesome vehicles til u drive them and see they nerfed it somehow even paid dlctrucks are worthless ie 49x I think they are purposely prolonging the rate they give us mods cus they want us to use the crap they came up with and I personally don't see anyone buying dlc trucks anymore now cus the most pitiful mod is still way better than their best they need to just accept the fact we like to play our way not the way they wanna dictate
