Every time I check it out, big Pike, Walleye, suckers and bass are in there with people fishing right on top of them using different techniques, but very rarely is one reeled in. I usually fish there for small panfish and crayfish for feeder fish in my backyard pond.

Those are Brook or Chestnut Lampreys. They are nowhere near as bad as Sea Lampreys as far as killing the host fish. Both of those types of lamprey are a native specie also. That dam is less than 2 miles from my house.

Hey ruby mist, I have a lil advice for u, first of all, buy a lure called a red and white dare devil spoon, cuz as far as I'm concerned, its the best pike lure that money can buy. Second, don't fish for pike on high pressure days, before fishing, check the air pressure. Third, pike like areas with lots of smaller prey fish, if u see groups of small fish swimming fast, chances r that there is a bigger fish that is nearby. And as far as where to look, I would have to say somewhere with enough cover such as docks and weed beds, sometimes smaller creeks r good in the spring when they leave the big lakes and head upstream to spawn.

Simple, just snorkel, float on top with a GoPro three or four foot selfie stick and let the current do the rest. have experienced much at 54 years and will say Top Five on the to do list for thrilling relaxation

Wow! There's certainly a lot of (different species of) fish down there! I've also tried filming underwater using the GoPro a couple of times, but I still find it difficult to capture exactly what I want because you can't see what you're filming... But with that many fish around, it doesn't seem to be such a problem :)

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but how deep were you underwater? And how far away from shore were you? I need technics, I'm 12 and have only caught 1 pike and my best fish was an 18" 4 lb. large mouth bass, I need to know!! XD
@SNOWSIC
@SNOWSIC 10 жыл бұрын
If your fishing the dam it is only 3' to 4' feet deep late summer and the pike are on the bottom, they are closer to shore than the other fish but blend in so well you cant see them, but if you bring your swimming goggles and look under the water you will see them about 20' out. as the summer goes on more and more fish pile in, some from down river and many come over the dam. Good luck.
