Before "Winter" really hits you & your winter camping goals - I would definitely recommend you put some kind of insulation in those 2 BIG GAPS between your Truck Side Walls and your Camper Side Walls - lots of HEAT is leaving your camper due to the COLD air flow getting into those giant gaps. Also, if camping alone...in remote places...in FREEZING conditions, make sure you have one of those Battery Boosters so that you can Jump-Start your own vehicle (in case something goes awry with your Truck Battery). Good Luck - looking forward to watching more of your adventures.

Dude, I love your gumption! Please remember... mountain people alway have good gloves, a good hat, and great boots! Also remember, its easier to shovel fresh snow than snow that has turned to ice! (Keep your eye on the temp outside!) But always remember to enjoy the beauty of winer! Love your channel!

This is October 24th 2021 and video shows it was first ready to view in 20 minutes ago. Snow has already begun here in Minnesota as well. Keep having fun, get that battery fixed, buy that propane, pick up those groceries and beer, and thank goodness for your heater. Have fun, stay safe🙏🌟🚚😎

Nothing beats winter camping! For your battery issues.. may be worth looking into a lithium.. diy solar with will has found some great options for around $350. I just put a 280AH lithium and put a tank heater ($40)on the battery so that I can charge it in the cold.

Greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Jonathan. Am in a tropical country. Temperature hovers between 21 - 30°C (sorry for the metric system). 21°C in early morning, 30°C in the afternoon. Don't have the 4-season weather, but we have a monsoonal season where a northeasterly wind between November till mid-March brings plenty of rain. Low-lying areas sometimes experienced flooding. Wind reverses to southwesterly from mid-May to October, which is usually dry. Been watching your channel for quite sometime now. Keep on keeping on. And yeah, beat the status quo.✌

Nice! Can't wait to take my rig out in the snow. Just a friendly suggestion for you to save some serious money on propane for that heater. For around $60 you can get an adapter hose, splitter and propane filter that will allow you to run that lil' buddy from your camper's tank. Bulk propane costs far less than those green bottles and no getting up at 3am to swap a bottle. You should be able to find those parts out on the road fairly easily [RV stores, Wallmart, Tractor Supply, etc.] and running the hose out to your propane cabinet shouldn't be too hard. Don't skimp on the filter. That's a known thing with those buddy heaters. Hopefully you can get your electrics sorted soon. That furnace will give you much drier heat than the buddy. Other than that those are pretty solid little heaters. Happy camping!

Campers re: Jonathan using Mr. Heater and CO detector, Mr. Heater has a detector that turns itself off if tipped over or if the flame goes out, in my experience. They have been building these units for many years. My camper has built in venting holes around the windows that keep warmth yet allow in adequate venting for a propane heater since it has a built in heater, so Jonathan's probably has venting too.
@JonathanYentch
@JonathanYentch 2 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely venting whenever using the Buddy. Even though it is supposed to have a CO detector/automatic shutoff function, ya never know and want always want to play it safe! I've also got a CO detector in my camper as well.

I use a buddy heater too. The best accessories are a 1 gallon tank, a hose and a filter. It will cost a little to get that stuff, but a 1 gallon tank holds 5 of those green bottles worth of propane. You can fill it for about the price of 2 green bottles.

With talk of propane shortages coming, I bought a 40lb propane tank, a Mr. Buddy hose, and filter. This way I can skip those 1lb tanks and keep heat going. Maybe you could rig something like that in your camper? I also attached a gauge to the tank to show amount left. I bought my tank and supplies from an RV campground, super helpful. Good luck and stay warm out there.

You can purchase a filter that screws in on the buddy heater then get what ever length hose 4,6,10 ft. Screw other end into propane tank. Cheaper that way. Them canisters cost a lot after getting 20 or more. The filter is to trap any oils that is evaporated from inside of hose the propane makes a transfer from hose that’s rubber into a oil , the filter traps the oil from getting corroded on the flame tip. Trust me a did a huge investigation on it.

FYI they sell a valve on Amazon you can attach to a 20LB propane tank that will allow you to fill the smaller ones for Mr Buddy. When you buy propane for a 20LB tank you pay like a buck or so a pound. When you buy a cylinder it is filled with what it says. But the cylinder will hold about three times what it comes with. And when you buy it you are paying like $7 a pound or something. A lot more expensive...
