Pro tip: Don't do donuts when your camper may be structurally compromised, sauté the garlic first, tell the uninitiated that you added sage and thyme to your dish, calories from fats are necessary in cold climates, Bondo is not flexible and therefore not a good choice for leak prevention. That is all.

Hi Jonathan, in your last video I congratulated you on the apartment and wished you luck on new adventures and remain 'Subscribed' because it's you, your youth, your enthusiasm, your way of being 'real' that I so enjoy. I think for some, like me (75), who are seniors really enjoy watching someone your age out enjoying "Nature", "Cooking" and just enjoying life as it should be. When I watch your video I smile, and sometimes laugh at somethings, like doing donuts on a snow filled parking lot, ... the thing is you make us happy ... Don't Change .. Merry Christmas. Happy New Year , Richard in Wyoming

Don't know your financial situation but... When was looking for a different camper (because of same problem) I drove the alley ways and left notes on campers asking if they wanted to sell. Got a lot of calls and wound up with an awesome deal. Only took a couple of weeks and a couple of hours leaving notes. Good luck

Good video as always. As for the water leakage, I would start by removing the outer skin along the bottom and assess the damage, when the weather is nice of course. I too have a vintage camper that has become my hobby. I had extensive water damage along the bottom on one side and minimal damage along the other. I cut out the bad areas and replaced the wood framing with fresh by attaching with wood glue and angle and flat braces. Depending on the type of camper jacks you have, the corners are of special concern as that's where your jacks lift the weight of the camper. I'm sure you can get plenty of ideas off KZbin on this. Good luck and keep the videos coming. My wife and really enjoy them.

Yo J!!! I’m with you no matter what the content!!! If I was in that same situation, I would drive the Slumber Queen back to LA and leave it at my parents house. You will definitely need a dry and even climate place to clean up all of that wood rot. I would replace the Slumber Queen with the Topper (I think you still have it) and camp with that until you can fix the Slumber Queen. I was stationed at Fort Lewis, and I know how the weather is up there. You could wait until early spring when the rain stops to work on it up there, but you would need a place to store the Slumber Queen, which would be an expense that you do not need. We are with you Brother!! Keep doing you!!

Darryl! I really appreciate your continued support and helpful comments that you leave! You actually read my mind exactly about leaving it with my parents until I have some better weather to rebuild everything back. Lots of nomad life folks find that if they experience any kind of life change viewers just dump them. This is especially true if they 'settle down' with someone, whether they camp still or not. I see lots of you tubers cater these folks and all it does is hold them back from growing creatively. Honestly it says more about the viewer than it does about you. You are on your own journey and you were excited to share your news. Know that most are still excited to journey with you.

Don't be discouraged too much about the leaking you discovered. I believe you can find then repair the leaks. If I could see the outside of your camper I bet I could help you evaluate the potential area/areas that might be leaking. Im sure you could by yourself but I would love to be able to help you only if I were there. BTW I'm nearly 60 years old now and I really really really enjoy watching your work. Your personality as many have said is a big part of the attraction. You are the only KZbin channel that I contribute to through Patreon. As a matter of fact I don't contribute to any other KZbin channel and I am Subscribed to about 10 that I seriously follow. If you just do what makes you happy then the right folks will follow. I like your channel and I'm staying. Suggestions? Did you use silicone to weather proof? Eternabond tape and loose lap sealant would likely have held on the roof and stiff lap sealant for the walls. Silicone may hold but when it fails it seems to do so secretly. Your camper is self destructing all the while the walls and roof aren't sealed and remain wet. The intermediate spaces are staying wet and molding now until they're dried. No matter how well the walls and roof are sealed, if the bed holds water then it will infiltrate the camper, since the camper isn't a boat. So the angle of the truck with respect to the bed is very important for truck campers. I hope this is something for you to consider.

Always remember water will flow to the lowest spot so water your seeing at the floor could possibly be leaking from the roof somewhere because when I had my palomino unit resealed about 10 years ago its still water tight today there was water coming in at the top where the cab over part is stripped it all apart replaced a few pieces of bridging it was more time consuming than anything else...good video the PNW is stunning to say the least

Jonathan I think your moisture issue on the wall behind the couch is being caused by condensation. The reason being that it's where the pad which looks like vinyl backing would trap the moisture in there. Like a cold can of soda your walls are cold and its presumably warmer inside. I bet if you opened a small hole from inside its bone dry in there. Possible solutions: Add better insulation in the walls or remove the cushions while traveling until the temperature levels out. Love your channel. I'm living vicariously through you. Lol

Hi, your water problem looks like coming from the cracks you repaired outside on the corner. Instead of trying to make those cracks water proof, I would probably try to cover them with a new layer of fiber glass, making a large gap around the cracks. Because, only trying the seal the cracks won't last, even worst if you do truck spinning on snow often, it's stressing on the frame 😆

You probably have condensation in that camper. Campers aren't insulated well enough for that kind of winter camping. Also propane produces water as it burns. Using propane for heat and cooking creates a lot more moisture inside. And sealing the outside traps the condensation inside. Also you get moisture from your breathing in the camper and snow on boots/clothing. It all accumulates to quite a bit of moisture inside. You'd be better going south. Find dryer climate. When you're not camping try leaving a light bulb lit inside the camper. The brighter the bulb the better. It'll cook the moisture out.
